Hot on the heels of me selling my Evoque and buying an electric Audi E-Tron, a colleague at work has decided to sell his Discovery and buy an electric Jaguar i-Pace. So if anybody wants a lovely condition Discovery, at around trade price, please contact me.

It is the latest model (series 5), HSE model, first registered in April 2017 (so on a "17" reg plate).
One owner from new, with full main dealer history from the original supplying dealer in Yeovil.
3.0 lt. V6 diesel, 255 bhp.
Mileage 44,000.
Will have a new MOT prior to sale.
Colour is Corris Grey, with cream leather.
4WD, 7 seats. All the usual bells and whistles for a car that cost £65k as purchased, so electric/heated seats and mirrors, climate, sat-nav, LR In-Control, remote boot opening, etc.
Extras include panoramic roof, roof bars (rare), activity key, privacy glass, remote garage door opener. Possibly some more bits I can't recall just now.
Recently fitted with new tyres.

Overall it's a high spec and luxurious car to travel in, no mater the weather or conditions, with space for 6 other mates.

Asking £32,500.

He has another Disco as well, which he’s keeping as they are such fantastic but practical cars. He just no longer needs two.

Apparently early Disco's are going the way of 1980's Fiat Panda 4x4's, ie expensive and very collectable!

I am sure it’s a good car, but that price gets
you a half decent optioned HSE w similar mileage from a LR dealer (quite a few actually on AT at the mo), which will come with warranty, fresh service etc...
You might want to have him check AT pricing if he really wants him to shift it.
Even if he brings his expectations down on pricing, I am sure it will still be better than the trade-in LRJ is probably offering.

Checked the usual sites such as AT, and comparable spec dealer cars have an average asking price of circa £38k. The WBAC offer price for this car is just under £31,500 hence the asking price.
So, outing it quickly at say £31k is easy. I only mentioned it on here in case anyone wanted to pick up a very capable and luxurious car, with perfect provenance, at a trade price.
(The trade-in offered at the main dealer was £30,500, but as WBAC is better, he’s turned that down.)

Having looked at countless Land Rovers over the last few months the price seemed very reasonable to me..

Biggest issue with anything over £30k private is that you need to have the cash to pay, no dealer financing.
Yes there are other financing options away from dealers but not quite as easy.
That's why I feel the majority of second hand cars are traded and sold through car dealers, rather than privately, and also why WBAC and the likes do so well to.

Good cars and a nice price. I personally moved onto the XC90 after years of Discovery 3&4s as I don’t like the look of the 5 but at that price it’s a nice car for someone.

Lots of three/five year old SUVs are going to come onto the market in the next year as people get zero car tax all electric replacements. Not sure which of the latter I would buy as there are so many due to come out over the next couple of years as manufacturers strive to meet the 95 gram fleet average.

Sorry Lozzer, I’m a bit tired after a busy first week back in the office. Are you asking a question? I’ve no idea about the list you refer to, but I’ll try and help/reply if I can.

I apologise Ewan, I've edited (deleted!) my post to suit, I was just trying to fit into the venomous underbelly that runs deep in this forum, good luck to your friend with the sale
