Folks

As per title, been all over today cat was spot on. Just this afternoon the boot handle wouldn’t work yet it would open using the key fob button.

Knackered handle in guessing? Looks like it’s just two screws holding it in?

Cheers

Go into the menu in the on-board ICE system you can enable and disable the boot button in there flip the setting and all good.

Lock > Unlock > press and hold boot button.

That’s for QPV

Resets all the doors, boot, seats and soft opening doors.

Battery off I recon for GT

Happened to mine and the car was only 18 months old...damaged wire under the boot rubber button was the cause.

Have each combination of symptoms described here.
Each fix has been applied at least once.
Sometimes boot opening works as designed. Reversing into fence at the trains station added mechanical fit issues (needs a slam)

the boot opening mechanism on my QP must be haunted.

Mine stopped working several months ago and the reset didn't help. I loosened the screws securing the trunk (boot!) opening mechanism, shifted it slightly and then resecured the screws. Magically, the mechanism worked again.

So my quick “I’ll just replace the downstairs toilet taps quickly” job turned into the job from ****. Sink off the lot.

Stopped me getting a look today but will soon

Had it too, wire broken at the boot hinge due to flexing. Easy fix.

Yep, had it on my GTS too a number of years ago - Marios' guy fixed it in 5 minutes while Richard Grace & I sat back and enjoyed their fine coffee! I was there for an exhaust install at the time, I didn't drive up to Manchester just for a dodgy electrical connection!

I had this recently, undo the 2 screws, check the rubber cover hasn't been pushed in, if it has pull it out! Check the wires to the switch and that they are not shorting or broken and give them a wiggle. Fixed mine, seems quite common.
