Dont forget you’ll get a few £ for your X !

Not if Mrs Crud inherits it!

I checked the prices on Vodafone. It wouldn't cost that much more to upgrade, but I'll be more tempted if I think I'm getting a good deal. The first few days won't offer much in the way of deals, so I'll check back again in a month. Previously I'd have bought one in the US or Singapore, but I can't see that being an option until the iPhone 13 is <6 months away.

Ah I forgot about that option lol

I’m O2 have been for years but going to see what deals sky have. No idea as a stop tier VIP (woohooo ..... not) whether it means I get something a bit better.

Die hard Apple fan...through the bad times. I won’t be upgrading, I’ll stick with my Xmax until a folding one comes out.

not tempted as they are becoming like white goods. the latest one must be an American side by side fridge with ice crusher?
Happy enough with apple device for joined up applications.
Last one I bought was iPhone 5 SE then inherited 6s from partner. screen a bit too smashed now.
Have no desire to pay for another so might go back to the 5. Only minor pain is shifting the banking app.

Is there a happy middle ground? the latest ones feel too big. Like holding a dinner plate to my ear while on a call. Too bulky for trouser pocket and damaging to jackets.
Get the SE... it has the newer internals but had the old design of the 8. I prefer the old 7/8 design with the home button over the newer X design that ditches it.

Blackberry (Android) for me, so I cannot help you. Not an iPhone fan and need a keyboard.

+1 Very disappointed that they no longer make handsets but still happy to be using my Priv which does everything that I need.

Good to see that there are still 2 of us around

Another reason why I don’t want to ditch the 8. Pained me to lose the 7 (or was it the 6).
I don’t give a flying Liza Tarbuck about gimmicks like face recognition or one-piece screens - I want my headphone jack back. You know, something actually useful.*

*particularly pertinent as I’ve had to buy another adaptor because my old one is lost to the Heathrow Terminal 5 ether....

Actually just checked - about two thirds less than the price I paid for them donkeys years ago. Good value, very comfortable.
Was going to email and ask them for advice on repairs

I can understand that. Nice phones. You can get a lightning to 3.5mm adapter, though. I have a set of ERA noise eliminating headphones. Had several as I had a habit of tearing the plugs off in airline seats. Stonking quality but I also had one of these which is rather super...

Make that 3 of us!
Using my Key2 which I've had for over 2 years and still runs fine. I'd still be using my passport if it were supported!
I'm so much faster with a keyboard than a touchscreen.

I use a Huawei mediapad 8.4 as my personal phone, basically a mini tablet. Can take and make calls on it, although I do mostly have it diverted to my smartwatch with its own sim.
A folding phone is basically the same size when open, and is certainly the future, here now on android but very expensive.
I just need a normal compactish works phone for work during the day, which is mostly used for phone calls, personal it's mostly social and Internet stuff, like most I guess.

For the first time in years didn't upgrade my XS when the contract came up for renewal just went for a sim only deal much cheaper, might look at the 12 once 5G gets rolled out over here but for now I will stick with what I have

Basically the phone hype is over, it’s been over for quite a few years. Nothing really major has been released. This folding screen thingy will be great if it works so I’ll wait to see what comes of it.

Incidentally, for the Apple bashers, yes they are over priced, over hyped and over marketed but they are incredibly well made.

I have all my old iphones, bar a couple destroyed by children. Old adage you get what you pay for.

Remarkably they all still work.

Folding screen phones aren't really selling. Curiously, the market isn't quite there yet. Even the early adopters haven't really embraced this idea.

As for Apple, agreed - they're a lot of money but a joy to use, especially alongside my Mac.

I guess ease of use is dependent on what you are familiar with... I hate to change my phone, let alone brand/make and I guess that is why I have rejected my new Apple phone and kept my Samsung.

I am aware that most of my younger staff have apple, but most appear to have smashed screens?!? Is this down to poor care or just a fragile tool?... I have never damaged a Samsung phone yet... and I keep them for years.
