alcantara on a 2 seater strad, argument eliminated :) they never get that hot to be honest, and we have 5 months >30C here.

Well, sadly a 2 seater Strad is out for several reasons. And no idea why your cars don't get that hot, but mine do!

The "logic" of the 2 seat version is that if you're not going to use the back seats anyway, why have them? Especially when it means you can then fit the carbon ones from the Enzo/MC12 in the front.

It may still be a big car, but don't be thinking its not fast and fun on a good road. Is a similarly priced 911 GT3 better as an out-and-out sports car? Yes. But would I swap my Strad for one? No.

Oh. And it's not hot in the summer. Because (a) it has working air-con and (b) the windows open. So it's not like driving a black Countach, for example.

The suspension change in the Stradale makes it much more compliant and confident over the Skyhook cars, in my opinion. I found my Stradale to be very "chuckable" on twisty roads where a Skyhook car seems to have too much hesitance while the sensors work out what it going on. It's telling that when making the Stradale, the engineers just went back to proper, normal springs and dampers.

I drove a GT3 recently actually, superb round the bends, terribly hard and crashy ride which made it not nice on a longer journey. The Stradale was no problem on long runs.

I know you know these things though, more for those that perhaps aren't fully aware.

Genuinely, anyone that says they wouldn't have a Stradale, over a GTS in particular, has never really driven one. They are more than the sum of their parts and considerably better therefore. I've also owned 2 Gransports, one heavily modified and one mint condition standard car. I love them and I do get why some would prefer them. But if you think that a GS, even and MCV is better than a Stradale, I would seriously disagree.

2 seater all the way, unless you have kids, in which case 4 seater all the way!

Precisely this; after a 2k road trip to Spain last year, I was astounded how well the Strad handled on so many different roads and it genuinely belied its size. A real delight and confidence inspiring in all conditions to boot. Getting new tyres and a full geometry check with Tony Bones just before really proved the point - with the right tyres and set up, these cars are very adaptable indeed.

It looks good in black. Are the diamond cut wheels the norm?

Do the 4 seaters not get the MC seats like Ewan’s?

the diamond cut wheels are the lighter (more importantly, stronger) forged wheels. Mine are painted gloss black as I don't like them diamond cut.

you would struggle to get past the carbon seats to the rears as I think they are fixed back.

Are the seats not the same as the MCV/Enzo ones, I’m sure they folded?

not sure but one of the 2 seat brigade will be along soon. I vaguely recall reading a comment that they were not passable for rear seat passengers.

The Enzo seats do fold forward a bit, so you can fit your shopping from Tiffany, etc, in the back. These were the only seats for the 2 seat cars. Here they are:

76130

The 4 seats Strads have the bigger, more adjustable electric seats. These were the only seats for the 4 seat cars. (The Enzo seats were not an option).

Totally agreed, I took mine to Netherlands when the world was still normal and social distancing could have been the name of a band.
I can’t think of another car that could fulfil both roles as a comfortable long distance cruiser for the family and still fun to drive around bends, and the sound to entertain you while doing it.
I agreed with the earlier comments of a GT3, definitely handles better on track, but the problem is to get the car there without breaking your back and injure your butt.

911 GT3 and Stardale are two very different cars for different occasions. Maserati may have said it was there hard core version of the GT S but track special it isn't. A GT3 is a car for a quick blast on your fav roads or track and traveling miles and miles in which a Stradale will do better. The Stradale couldn't compete with That'The of car but it is the better car to travel in long distances. I remember a review in one of the magazines that put it up against a GT3 and the M3 GTS ....The conclusion was it was more a competitor for the Jaguar XKR rather than the track specials. This does make sense to me after driving a Stradale. Very special and brilliant car the Stradale but more road than track special which isn't a bad thing.
