Brexit Deal

This is a taste of things to come.

Currently lorries can pass through and board the Chunnel or get on a ferry in about 45 seconds due to the agreements in place with the EU.

It has been suggested that this time will go up to at least 5 minutes per vehicle.

The delays for the two few days have only been for an extra few minutes per vehicle and have caused absolute chaos where my office is.
Brexit will make this situation far far worse.

Fortunately I won't be living in Ashford in 10 days!!!!
Just move up 'norf'....its actually very nice up here although I'm getting a bit fed up with Scottish Govt Covid adverts on TV when I live 60 miles away from the border.

I’m moving closer to the EU next week. The Channel is 300 metres away. So France is 33.6km away. Or about 21 miles.

Fortunately the chaos from Brexit won’t affect me unless I want to use the M20.
Where I am this week, it will be a nightmare!

Outdoor gym equipment we insist on marine grade for minimum 500m from coast? Caple-Le-Ferne is all of that and on top of a cliff and still Rust’s like nobodies!

Capel is a bit of an anomaly (according to friends who live there) as even though it's on the top of a cliff it gets loads of spray because of the way the wind blows.
Didn't make any sense to me until we were round said friends last year. When they clean their windows they get a ridiculous amount of salt on them. So much so they wash them every week. They must be almost a mile from the coast (or cliff top in their case).
Capel is obviously the place to be if you're a window cleaner.

I know this isn't Brexit. Strictly speaking. But, its linked.
You guys all might be aware of this and if so, apologies.
I've stopped watching local and national politics. Instead focusing on US politics.
Like dropping Emmerdale in favour of Dallas. Far, far more sh*ts and giggles.
I heard yesterday that Nicola Sturgeon is now getting it from both ends. As it were.
Not only is she in conflict with Westminster. Apparently the Shetland and Orkney Islands
wish to secede from Edinburgh, taking control of the North Sea oil and gas that comes
ashore there and inviting the Royal Navy to open a northern submarine base on the
islands. Secession from Edinburgh isn't strictly accurate. Apparently they're after British
Overseas Territory status, or something similar.
Anyway. I only mention this because it made me laugh and wonder whether the Scottish
Office is deliberately creating trouble in Nicola's rear, to distract her from Scottish
independence.
