cant understand why the wife has to use a performance car for a fooking 2 mile trip to the supermarket when we have both daughters cars at our disposal now, tried to educate on engine wear but thinks I'm talking nonsense:banghead2:

So you have never used a performance car for a ‘valid’ reason. Just to go for a blast. And actually take a long 2 mile trip that takes an hour. Just asking...

Most of my journeys (prior to lock down of course) have been taking the long way to the petrol station....
Now I'm the official chauffeur for a key worker...:)

Popped to Tesco for a couple of bits. Car park, plenty of spaces. I walked.
why is it some bell end still feels the need to abandon their car in the drop off..pick up point while they go and do their shopping. Been there 15 minutes. I’ve been observing while my missus is inside.

I saw something similar today, car parked on double yellows outside a small Tesco’s meant that the Tesco delivery driver couldn’t make the turn to get round the back of the store.
I was stood there wishing the driver would lose his rag and take the side of the car out.

There seems to be a notion that double yellows somehow don't count during the lock-down. And that traffic wardens should be staying at home. Seems very odd to me; I like enforcement of traffic rules.

There always seems to be a notion that they don’t apply outside working hours. People were forever parking overnight on the double yellows by out yard in Northampton. It meant you couldn’t get artics round the corner. One of our supervisors took to moving cars with the big forklift, it was pretty amusing while it lasted. It stopped after he put a fork through the floor of an Astra.

There is also an idea that single yellows 'don't really count'. In my small town there is ample parking, but there is one spot with single yellows and clear 'No parking 8-6' signs, in an area where people need to be able to turn and pass each other. But about 50% of the population seem to feel that this is some sort of 'Oh, look, a special clear space just for me!' area. I have taken to tapping on windows and saying as charmingly as possible (not very) 'Do you ever wonder why this area is so clearly market as 'no parking'?'

I like the cars getting towed videos on youtube , the ones where they drive off the back of the trucks are the best , you know, £10k in damage to the truck & car rather than a £250 fine

Oh but it's the point that they can give it to the man...

It would seem Tesco parent and child car parking spaces are free game now....while waiting for the missus I observed 3 people using the spaces, think there are 7 spaces..
Not kids either, middle aged folk who think the inconvenience of walking 10 yards further is an intrusion on there daily life....

No excuse for that, however can’t imagine very many couples will need to be taking the roe kids to the supermarket right now.

Petrol Station (or fuel stations) why do they not have any of those plastic gloves any more?
Fill up the workhorse and you get a hand stinking of diesel.

Made worse by the fact that Covid contamination could spread it to hundreds of people a day!

The one at the end of the road has just put little dispensers on the pump nozzles with biodegradable gloves in them.
