that brings back some memories, welding on your back with no proper safety gear and weld spatter burns with the odd arc eye which was a right b1tch for 48 hours
I once helped a mate of mine do the sills on my old Chevette on his drive in the dark !!
It wasn’t the prettiest of jobs, but did pass the MOT the following morning.

good trick to hide cr4p welding was a load of body schutz, remember welding some rear arches on a neighbours chevette many moons ago, not in the dark though, i still have my old Clarke 165 welder from some 35 years ago and still runs fine as a spare
