My youngest little man has reached 16 years. He saved up for his first car and has done us proud with his choice of not only an Italian little brother to the Maserati, but he intentionally sought out a manual trans.
There is indeed hope for the younger generation.

Any other good father and son car pictures to share? My apologies for the hastily taken driveway shot: one doesn’t get to choose the weather in Seattle unfortunately.

That picture looks like it was taken in England.

No father and son stories possible for me but Freya hits 17 in a year and has her eye on a F500 too.

An excellent and drivable choice so far. I admit to having taken a few extra turns on the test drive for my own satisfaction.

S’pose I could have written it as “Parent and Child.” But the mind is narrow sometimes and only thinks of ones own story.

As for the picture, Seattle is quite English in its weather. Temperamental, yet with limits that assure it’s always bearable. Today, the rain cleared to reveal a 69F sunny afternoon fit for grilling cod on the deck.

A few years before mine are old enough but they are already agreeing which of the classic fleet belongs to each of them fortunately insurance will keep them safe for a bit longer

Both my kids bought and drive auto cars - both Japanese!

And thinking about it, the only manual car I own is my TR6.

I can help you there Peter. Our latest arrival (grandson) weighed 7lb 8oz when he came into the world yesterday, and being the kind and benevolent soul that I am I'm more than happy to share the burden of my wallet with you at Christmas and on 28th June in the coming years.

Yep, I'm sure he'd settle for that at the moment, then passing through various forms of entertainment (X-Box, girls, et al) before topping out at some form of transport in a few years time; will he ever experience the pleasure of petrol powered cars I wonder?

Congratulations.
Thanks Wattie. The fun begins when he gets home today, albeit somewhat tempered by pandemic distancing etc.

My eldest son passed his test and bought a Fiesta Diesel. But I think that's down to his mother.
He now wants a 140i BMW now he's earning good money.

Alright for some. I had a 1.1L Fiesta for the first 7 months of my driving career. Which I crashed twice, blew the engine up and then was nicked.

Glad to say my 26 YO son is a true Petrolhead, unlike many of his gen who don't even have a driving licence. Now has 13 Le Mans 24H under his belt and having started at 14 he has every chance of beating my total of 34 YTD.

Here's his weekend fun car on limited miles classic insurance. Daily is just an Astra, but it does have an "OY11LLY" number plate. You would never guess his name!!

When my daughter was learning to drive I bought her first car and got a Peugeot 1007. She hated it, sold it and got a Fiat 500!
