I had a 'moment' on a wonderful road in Germany's Black Forest - the max speed sign for the glorious sweeping bend said '90' - I was disappointed to bottle out at '85' - and then remembered it was km/hr and I was doing mph - fortunately no cops around.

I 'allegedly' did 172 on the way to Le Mans. (KM/H obviously.......)

That figure was easily eclipsed last year, and by some distance, by a couple of wonky donkeys.

I'm definitely captain slow....

I think I've strayed into ~120mph territory a couple of times very briefly.

I've been done for speeding once ...

58mph - YES - 58mph

It was where the M6 and M42 diverge. The M42 was jammed, so there was a 40mph variable speed limit. The M6 was entirely empty. So with no cars infront of me, I drive at an extremely conservative speed and got done by a camera!

The fact that the lanes were empty and I wasn;t going over 70mph didn't matter, wasn't even worth contesting.

Pretty absurd.

‘Someone I know’ sees you’re indicated 140mph in a 164 3.0 lusso, and raises it to an indicated 148mph, also in the late 90’s, also in an 164 3.0 lusso, an early 12v one.
This was also late at night, but on the M66 southbound. Maybe it had the edge due to being a manual! Great car.

I reckon the taxi driver that took me to my hotel in Rome the first time I went was doing about that!
One handed, with a *** in the other!
Whilst telling me an Italian man who gives way to another man is a lesser man than that driver!

Never been so scared in all my life!

Those 164's certainly shifted!

For me no licence has always meant no work, the only time I can remember being close to a ban was in a toyota celica on the M62 , I was doing about 120 up to the bit where the M6N merges just as a traffic car appeared off the M6, it's 4 lanes wide there so I managed to scrub off 40mph before he saw me luckily.

My only ever speeding conviction really ****** me off
M6 S at preston 1996
50mph in the roadworks , left the roadworks so went back up to 70 , saw a police range rover , didn't even slow down , a bit further up the road more roadworks 50 so I slowed to 50
A week later NIP
I thought WTF , turns out the bit between the roadworks was still 50 , I was doing 69 , 4 points and a fine
What ****** me off was in the 50 bits where they were actually working cars were coming past me at 60 some 70 but the police RR in the middle rang the till, money over workers lives

Pretty bloody ridiculous.

It annoys me that contesting them is basically a no go.

Bloody ****. So if he'd rear ended someone doing the legal limit the impact would have been close to a head on at the legal limit!!

When they catch him I think he'll be on the news , an example will be set .
I remember reading about a guy on pistonheads a few years back , he'd been caught speeding but his wife had taken the points , they got away with it until he opened his big fat gob , both went to prison.

This guy will do the same somewhere down the line
Just watched it again , is he really driving with one hand on the wheel , I thought someone else was holding the phone

Chris Huhne and his ex wife Vicky Price springs to mind. They both ended up serving time for it. She tooks the points for him i think and then blabbed afterwards. Both got done for perjury.
