I'll bet a secondhand 40k Alfa Giulia QV with its 500+hp is far more accomplished to drive every day than any modern AM ever produced;)

I've driven lots of late AM's, there all talk and no trousers!

All the old stuff though are fantastic!

Remind me - what’s the name of this forum again?

is it SportsAston? I don’t think so....

My personal view is that none of the current Maserati range are proper sports cars, and in all honesty probably aren’t trying to be... however, we tend to forget that and end up comparing them to things like a Vantage, or a Porker 911.

If I wanted a 2 seater Sports car, then a Vantage or a 911 would be obvious contenders... however, right now I need / value the flexibility of 4 seats, and I think the GS is a great all round package. I have to admit I still hanker after an MC-V, and am secretly hoping the market will crash so I can buy one for something more like 40k than 60k...
LOL....it's not my fault Maserati doesn't have a car that fits this popular category. Aston sold quite a few Vantages. Imagine how many cars Maserati could have sold if they had produced a 2 seater manual V8 Coupe. Still a valid requirement now.

Very frustrating as Maserati had a cracking powerplant there.

I'm sure it might be but missing the point a little. So are many manufacturers these days.

It is difficult to impossible to try to make 2 vehicles in one. Quite often a comfortable daily doesn't make a great sports car and vice versa a great sports car doesn't always make a great daily. The are both compromises.

If I want a sports car I want a sports car......not a comfortable daily.

I understand that some have to compromise as only have one car to do both but I'm lucky and appreciative I can do both with less compromise.

Those Jags are tremendous. I had an XFR and it was the dog’s thingies. The XF hasn’t aged as well, in my humble, but the XK certainly has. Always hankered after the XF’s more rugged and sportier cousin, but the rear seats are useless.

Great car...I would love one ..but as a daily drive not that special two seater sports car for the Sunday morning blast........but it's interior is still made out of fisher price plastic and I would want a car that didn't have parts falling off it for 40k. Even after all these years Alfa still can't get this right. The best build I had on an Alfa was my lovely GTV V6.....after that they seem to have gone down hill again........Alfa fans I think call that character.......Character my ****.......Shoddy in this day and age I would call it.

Agree, Jaguar x150 is a truly timeless design that has aged better than most other coupes from around 2005 imho. They also drive really well, make a great noise, are reliable and relatively cheap to maintain and run. Shame it was never available as a manual or with a cambiocorsa style gearbox as the auto is almost a little too quick and refined to provide the ultimate driving experience that a manual gives. Use mine a lot here in the Algarve where it is a comparatively rare car and attracts a lot of very positive attention

Dammit, Dave, that's another terrible insult. You may as well have said, "Drive an X150? I'd rather make love with that saucy whelk off Countdown". You're setting the comparison bar too high and it renders meaningless your attempt to denigrate the Jag.

Let's try this. Think of something awful. OK, got it? Now use that as a comparison. For example: "Drive an X150? I'd rather snog that bird off two girls one cup.

I'm with AndyK I can forgive the Aston V8 Vantage a lot just because of its looks, it is IMO one of the best balanced coupes there has ever been and its where I would spend £30k, however I don't like the ragtop one little bit

With the roof down I think it looks great, but not with it up (where it mostly would be). I'd have had one otherwise.
