OMG. Deliverance is one of my favourite films. I’m going over to the what have you found to watch thread.

I'll just mention that 19 states of the US permit marriage between first cousins. 41 of them permit co-habitation and sexual relationships. Good job they're not allowed to marry, though....

I wouldn't marry any of my cousins! No way, Robin Day! Not with so many Thai girls/ladyboys waiting. And the food is better. Thai Green Curry vs a Lard Butty - come on!

Loving this one day 2 done successfully and just starting day 3.
For me personally it's to enjoy the current peace and tranquility going on and for some reflection of many things around me.
I'm not a middle-class trend follower or anything like that.
Early days but feeling Good.

Just a question on this. Understand the religious bit but is there health benefits as if you can't eat between sunrise and sunset would you just pig out when it gets dark ...... Or are there other rules ?...

I think it's more for mind and soul.
We're certainly not pigging out here.
I'm not getting hungry during the day which surprised me Andy but probably couldn't do it if I was working to be fair.
Sunrise I have my usual breakfast and coffee and water again nothing more than normal.
Would really need someone in the Faith to explain further really.

There's normally a social meal, but pigging out is definitely discouraged. There's a big celebration at the end as well.

A big celebration meal at the end I can understand especially something social with others if we can after 30 days of fasting.

.....I have no idea on the impact to the NHS of this.....

I'm going to take a guess that the negative effect on the NHS during Ramadan of slightly impaired Muslim staff due to fasting (or imaginary Muslim patients going to A&E with 'horrendous stomach cramps') is trivial compared with the negative effect on the NHS of 'Christians' drunkenly injuring themselves or other people for all 12 months of every year.

Well, perhaps not ‘pigging’ out...

I wondered if anyone would notice that ;)

I would emotionally agree. But I have no data so will not state it as a fact.

What's the last Friday before Christmas called again?

Who mentioned “Muslims” with stomach cramps?

I’m going to take a guess that the negative effect on the NHS during Ramadan of people climbing ladders set up unsafely is trivial compared to drunken “Christians”.

However I think people that do so and risk any unlikely but still possible fall when the NHS is already on it’s knees is a poor choice as well..

Rest assured it’s not a health thing, nor something to be encouraged when the NHS is struggling enough as it is IMO..

Doctor: “Sorry for the wait, we’ve been tending to tens of thousands of Corona virus patients, however I’ve left them lot to help you, what’s the problem?”

Patient (aka bored middle class momo): erm I’ve got horrendous stomach cramps ‘cos of doing Ramadamseys..
