Phil we have Ramadam in Wales but it's called Ramaram......

Good luck to you Phil...Don't think I could do it as I sit here eating an Indian takeaway and a lovely bottle of wine.
Well I'm tucking into a well deserved bowl of sugar puffs.;)

I'm not well versed in any faith or religion so forgive my ignorance.

So the idea is not to eat or drink in between sunrise and sunset?

So you can eat/drink after sunset and before sunrise?

Yup, for 30 days, I think. So, nearish to the equator, say in Singapore, means 12 hours of fasting, which is a moderate act of self-denial, I suppose, but in Antarctica in August means death, basically.

That's the problem with virtually all religeon , most written and devised in Asia at a time when people were not versed in how the world works , saw a program the other day when the interviewer asked a well respected educated Muslim ,why do most Muslims under persecution seek to come to Predominantly Christian countries , the answer was to use their own system to convert them lol ,hold on tight folks ,thankyou Merkel

To save me Googling this can someone post the exact process of Ramadan? My boxing tutor Sami is Muslim and does this. Seemed to remember him saying about eating in the dark???

I assumed this was a religious thing or it’s it a health thing, probably both I suspect.

Sorry, religion is not my thing.

Rest assured it’s not a health thing, nor something to be encouraged when the NHS is struggling enough as it is IMO..

Doctor: “Sorry for the wait, we’ve been tending to tens of thousands of Corona virus patients, however I’ve left them lot to help you, what’s the problem?”

Patient (aka bored middle class momo): erm I’ve got horrendous stomach cramps ‘cos of doing Ramadamseys..

Simply it's fasting between sunrise and sunset. Water may or may not be taken depending on individual views. There are a lot of exemptions for illness and infirmity.

I have no idea on the impact to the NHS of this.

Well you're going to have a fun month aren't you?! Be sure to have your sparring sessions at the end of the day, not the start. Not only as fatigue has set in, but his mind will be wandering to Mcdonalds fish burger and the like.

Ask for double length sparring sessions closer to the end of the month...

I don't get it. Good for the mind and soul potentially but ridiculously unhealthy for your body and health.

So you still eat and drink just not in daylight. Basically not at the right times and eat too much before going to bed.

What year is it?

And my Muslim friend tells me Muslims will eat pork if it's all there is to survive. Compromises are everywhere. Personally, no bacon butty mean no way Islam, no way Muslamic Rayguns. No way was Cliff Richard sitting on the toilet when he wrote 'Wired For Sound'...
