Hi everyone, I always loved the 3200GT since they arrived. I’m a petrolhead with a flare for all different types of cars, I have owned around 50 cars from Chevrolet Suburban to Mercedes sl55. I currently own a jaguar xj6 1975 and a Chevrolet Avalanche.
I'm trying to bye a green 3200GT here in Sweden. It s on an advert, but the seller don’t answer... a little frustrating saying the least. I really enjoyed this forum and have leareed a lot!
take care out there. Gustaf

Hey gustaf, welcome to the forum!
The 32 is a car that will undoubtedly frustrate and annoy you at times, but when on song you will be rewarded in bucket loads!
Kudos for going the green route, needless to say, I agree it is the best colour for these cars!
Good luck with your search, all I'll give in advice is try and get an obd compliant one, post 2000, they are easier to live with.......as I learned the hard way unfortunately :(

Hi Gustaf.
Good luck finding a 3200, they are the most rewarding and frustrating cars to own. Best decription of the 3200 I have seen is mad as a bag of frogs. Let us know how you get on while looking, you will always get some advice on here, and a load of useless comedy remarks too :) . Note there are some buying guides in the 3200 technical section and these are worth a read before getting involved with real cars, and be careful if you drive one you will want it!

Yes, thats the one! Only one on sale in Sweden.. I have tracked down his phone number... Thanks for the warm welcome, its very nice to follow this forum! Yes I have read most of what’s in the forum about the 3200, 4200 and grand sport. I really love the boomerang back lights, but I will buy a 4200 or a grand sport also. But no one is for sale at this moment in Sweden, but the season has just started.
Not yet, thanks to the plucky DFS and their sales.
Gustaf, I suspect that advert. If you want to sell a car, you would put up more and better quality photos, surely.

I totally agree with you about pictures, but that’s not uncommon in Sweden to only put up one and only put your email. I do that, mostly to get rid of the ”I give you half the price, dude” guys. I will track him down, you can run but you can’t hide!

Only one available in Sweden, if you want a good one you may have to travel further around Europe.
One thing check the subframes particularly the front one. They tend to rust from the inside out but Swedish winters won't help if they use salt on the roads.

Yes thats true! And it has sat for two years, but the price is good and the mileage are low 100000km and 12000 euro. The salty roads in Sweden kills a lot of cars. The fun thing is that in the north they don’t use salt at all. Unfortunately this one is in the south and they use a lot of salt. This one has had a new exhaust system, kambelt and water pump during the las two years. The down side is that the starter are giving up and it lose power.

MarkMas!!! Soon to be know as SwedishMark. We will take over the world!!!!

I only speak about 15 words of Swedish, but used to go there on business a lot, and love the place. My accent is much admired - when I go into a hotel and say "Hej" they always reply "Kommer du från Finland?"

But maybe my accent is not so perfect: I once got on a bus and said to the driver in my brilliant Swedish: "En biljett till Sundbyberg?" and he replied "Ah yes, you want to go to Sundbyberg do you? That will be four crowns, please."

...and for anyone who thinks that was easy: https://forvo.com/word/sundbyberg/

not sure 100,000 km is low lileage for a 3200, i have seen a few with more mileage than that but not many. Starter is cheap to replace and I used a Bosch replacement which is much better than the OEM and not expensive. There is a lot of stuff to remove to get into the starter, as its in the VEE of the engine under the plenum, and there are a few other jobs you might want to do if you replace the starter, but its not scary just a lot of work. Subframe rust can be a problem as i am not sure these can still be purchased? check around rear arches and bottom edge of the boot and below the lights for rust. also just behind the front wheels underneath.

Thanks for the information. There is a Dutch guy on YouTube that has made a video about changing the starter motor. Don’t look so complicated.

I'm not sure I remember accurately what the fare actually was, but it was in about 1999.

No, but my Swedish accent sounds Finnish, apparently. I think that must mean that I am over-doing it!

My other fun time in Sweden was at Arlanda saying to the taxi driver, "I want to go to Solna, please" and he would say "Where?" and I would say "Sölna?", and he would say "Where?" and then I would try: Sölnā, Sòlnā, Sólnā, Sólnā, Sôlnā, Sõlnā, Solnā, Sölnâ, Sòlnâ, Sólnâ, Sólnâ, Sôlnâ, Sõlnâ, Solnâ, Sölnã, Sòlnã, Sólnã, Sólnã, Sôlnã, Sõlnã, Solnã, Sölnä, Sòlnä, Sólnä, Sólnä, Sôlnä, Sõlnä, Solnä, Sölnå, Sòlnå, Sólnå, Sólnå, Sôlnå, Sõlnå, Solnå, Sölnà, Sòlnà, Sólnà, Sólnà, Sôlnà, Sõlnà, Solnà, Sölná, Sòlná, Sólná, Sólná, Sôlná, Sõlná, Solná, Sölna, Sòlna, Sólna, Sólna, Sôlna and Sõlna, and he would say "What?" each time. Happy days.
