Here is a render of the unit I've been involved in developing. The electronics that I and five other guys designed are inside the box mounted on the side of the bed. I must say I'm very proud to be working on such a fantastic project.

The first prototypes are being built tomorrow and if all goes well, production will be begin immediately. Three weeks from inception to prototype is incredible for a medical device.

Spooky some one on one of my Alfa forums has just posted a picture of this as a project they are working on

Dyson or TTP employee maybe?

No idea here is the post he put on FB

Ha - working on this with my incredibly smart colleagues and the fab people from TTP. Since I’m doing this from my CV19 sick bed , I told my colleagues that ”they’re involved but I’m committed“

Sorry, point of order I thought Mark had disputed the veracity and / or interpretation of said photos and was (from memory) pretty soundly lambasted....

Apologies (both in advance and after the fact) if my memory is not what it was ;)

C

Somebody said one of the pics was very old, somebody said one was not UK, and somebody said that one was on the A303 near Stonehenge. (I think).

I just pointed out that he A303 one showed teh convoy going West, not London-wards.

I don't recall anyone being lambasted (on that occasion) :) (Dammiit, now I have to look up the etymology of 'lambasted'.)

......i am confused. Was there no ‘us’ initially!

I originally wrote: "Good to know someone is doing something useful while the rest of skulk at home being paranoid, complaining or making pointless spreadsheets."
I was trying to say: "Good to know someone is doing something useful while the rest of us skulk at home being paranoid, complaining or making pointless spreadsheets."
I definitely did NOT write: "Good to know someone is doing something useful while the rest of you skulk at home being paranoid, complaining or making pointless spreadsheets."

I think my error probably contributed to some people not getting that I was including me in that category (the skulking and spreadsheets at least). Sorry about that.

Being self employed myself I am not sure whether to feel happy or not over today's government support package.

I have always kept a "rainy day" fund and as such could have managed 3 months expenditure with no outside assistance. While it will be a relief not to dip in to those funds (and in my case more than likely receive a cash payment in June) I do worry that this is a short term gain but long term loss for the self employed. I don't cheat the system and declare my income and business expenses legitimately - I know many don't. I just hope this "bail out" doesn't come at the cost of a big tax hike, but I get the feeling I am hoping in vain. The whole situation reminds me of the short term VAT cut in the mid noughties and we all know what followed that!

There was a very clear message that tax advantages for the self employed will be taken away some time in the future.

You are correct. One of the reasons I folded my ltd coy when I went to Denmark. Dividend tax relief reduced, flat rate vat gone, Nat insurance up....it was only going one way.
It was mentioned that the difference in tax rates would be a subject for another day...

They follow a well known Retail model.
Under promise and then over deliver.
There will be a load of backlash and then a new announcement that they have listened to the people and bring things forward.

Not sure how that's doing to work out, was talking to my sister tonight who is a tax inspector in Birmingham, HMRC has closed all its offices in Birmingham and Coventry and sent everyone home!
