Good luck on this one Loz.... reading the thread with interest.

My Alfa GT spent most of its life with Days it seem through first owner for 10 years. Just taken mine to Ned @ Autolusso as they seem decent and was a smidge nearer to me than Days.

Older and wiser now Phil , if it was summer mode and a few degrees warmer , it would of come straight home in the garage , you gotta remember im 6/7 years older now and used to temperatures in the late 30's and 40's , blood has thinned and im still not fully UK aclimatised , fact is it ive always been a wimp where cold is concerned lol , and to be truthfull im missing African early mornings something wicked , I'll saunter down to the garage around mid morning and have a potter about

Loz, back in the fold and back with a car - nicely done

This is definitely my favourite of the current/past Massers, alongside a Stradale.

The GS, in med blue, with a silver wheels...it just looks incredible.

Good luck

Cheers bro, and yes Phil bonnet is up, and battery on charge as i type, checked all the bits in the boot correspond where it had been semi stripped engine bay guards plugs/leads etc , checked the oil and inside the filler , golden brown and NOT A HINT of milkyness colour distortion , we will attempt to turn it over by hand crank once i go back after lunch ,

Need to get hold of the service history from the previous owner , as i understand it this car had impeccable service history for its limited mileage and would it would be nice to have it with the car , If anyone knows him personally i would appreciate the heads up and a pm please , he is a glasgow resident , so maybe some of our scottish contingent can be of help , it would be greatfully appreciated

I think this could be the chap and looks to be in the right kind of business lol

Pozzi initially joined C&C Group as head of supply chain services and was promoted to group manufacturing director in 2011 and then to managing director of international EMEA

Loz, having had some small experience with flooded electrics, I bought a Megger (megaohm tester). If you are familiar with, sorry, if not it is a huge help in identifying what does and does not need replacing in elec. wiring. It "tickles" the circuit with milliamp but high voltage current, and looks for shorts.

Thanks duly noted, but after a thorough and intensive check this morning its really apparent that this is quite simply water ingess through the air intake , no water has splashed up inside the engine bay , A good chance that the o2 sensors might of had a good dousing but then they normally would under normal hard rain conditions.....................if there is an outstanding flaw with these cars .....its that the air intake vent is in the lower passenger side of the front bumper and litterally acts as a scoop in anything 5" or more standing water ..................Once the battery is charged i'll pop back down and we can have a go at winding her over first by hand to see if she's is free , if that works out ok we can proceed with the other checks for compression / piston depth etc

At the moment im back self isolating

Surely the owner previous to this one, i.e. Dave, will know him. The one before that was Brett, and he used Emblem for the servicing. So it should be easy enough to trace and recreate the history, even if it has been lost. (I can get hold of Brett for you if you need me to).

Chees Ewan , i have just managed to send him a message via Linkedin ..................lets see whats that brings , if its fruitless then i'll work with you and Dave .....................by rights it should be in a nice wallet if the condition of the car is anything to go by

Happy to help with the Glasgow bit if you need Loz. That's if the impending Army lockdown and armageddon don't get in the way! If you track him down, i'll pick up the history no bother.
