What a game.....certainly no second guessing the markets these days or ever again I think. Someone somewhere is or will making a killing though. There always is.

Not sure any of this really changes anything much for me short to medium. Long term who knows.

All I know is I have many useful skills, abilities and great knowledge in a strong industry that will be around forever so not a bad place to be I guess.

I can't underline this enough: the markets are today broken. I never saw this in the Crisis and I was at the epicentre running a £1bn book in credit (bond & derivative) trading. We had gapped pricing etc., yes. But for the top 3 investment banks to not bid US Treasuries - this is beyond belief. US Treasuries are the bedrock and basis of the entire financial system. If it persists for a few days we aren't talking low/high we are talking sticks and stones. What the Fed did today cannot be contextualized on previous market behaviour.

It's like fearing 20 people won't turn up to a house party and inviting every major football clubs' supporters to ensure the house is full. This is very, very, very bad as I said before...

There's just no bid for anything. I cannot believe what I am seeing (futures just re-opened). The real world effects over the next weeks and months are going to be huge - even if in capital markets this is a blip. The dislocation is so violent and severe.

Wow! And coming from you, MG, this is extremely serious.

Although I posted that last gold "megaphone" as a joke, I've since looked a little closer, and this is what I found on the monthly chart:

It's no joke.
Trendlines are subjective, I should stress ...

Please tell me you got out.
No but I am very relaxed about it, as this is the market correction I have been hoping / praying for for the past 2 years.
So despite having watched 5 Full Fat Range Rover go up in flame on my brokerage account over the past 2weeks :) I am very excited about having kept 30% of my networth in cash, ready to invest as the market is still tanking (I still expect another 15-20% drop). That gives an opportunity to buy on the cheap.
I am 40 y/o and really don’t need that retirement egg nest until I retire in 5-10years.

Timing the market is just not what I am after - I didn’t have much cash to invest in 2008 and really was gutted I missed the opportunity of the century - I thought at the time. I am in a very different position this time.

Honestly I dunno what to say. You’ve lost 5 Range Rovers worth and you’re relaxed? In fact you’ve been praying for this situation?

I am sat with kg’s of physical gold and am sh1tting myself.

You haven’t grasped the severity of this.
You are potentially witnessing the collapse of the entire global financial system.
Your cash might be confiscated!

I’m frankly stunned.

This all seems peri- apocolyptic....

@Wattie - I don't want to freak you out - a tad tongue in cheek - but governments always confiscate the gold (and I'm sure there's an electronic audit trail on your purchases)...! See: US in 1933

That said they never go after the silver....

Mine was lost in a freak boating accident I had yesterday
I’ve been investing in, and running a gold business for years so I’m well aware of what Govts can do (Cyprus) . I’m well prepared.

Can all the “Greater Fools” please form a queue as we need to paint a picture of recovery prior to the close in order to dump our stock on to you.
“Buy the dip” :lol2:

I HATE Fridays in the markets - I can only repeat it! Here are the keys levels on the S&P futures, according to my super-duper TradeStation charting platform:

Who the **** would wanna be in equities over the weekend?
Total joke.
Did someone discover that money printing replaced parts missing in IPhones, cars etc and that sick workers were suddenly transformed into healthy producers because of it?

Thought not.
Sell any rallies.

Here’s the link to the apparent vaccine.

That's what we said last Friday ...
