Fair point. I think they sold about 30,000 911's last year Worldwide, out of total sales of 280,000.

So they probably sold nearly as many 911's as Maserati did cars of all types.

The positive is that the Alfieri styling will translate over to the new GranTurismo which is the one I will wait for I feel.

Then what would you pitch it against? I mean, if you fancied one, what else what you take for a spin?
I’d take the current Maserati V8’s second hand over that any day and pocket the £160k change and congratulate myself for not being an idiot.

Well, yes, but that's a very broad statement, Wattie. Perhaps you could narrow things down and congratulate yourself for not buying such an expensive car. :)

Not many idiots can afford a 200k car. I agree a GTs is good value for money- but personally if you can afford a Ferrari it would be a strong proper petrol head to ignore the urge...

Ok I’ll narrow it down...
QPV GTS and a
Gransport (to see what all the fuss is about)
2 decent ones-£50k ish.Total
Leaving £150K for repairs.

And , I’ll know that the Gransport will probably be an appreciating asset (forum predictions)......

Can I congratulate myself now?

Only if you've polished your gold, buffed your noggin and generally been well-behaved. Have you?

Jesus that’s actually stunning
i agree it looks lovely and would be awesome if Maserati made it. Sadly thought it would probably cost too much and lose too much to sell on volume. Would be great if it was pitched vs a 911 and had similar residuals.. then it would be a no brainer in that level. The next league up and it would have no chance

Can I revise that opinion having seen this shot- looks like the love child of a 488 , portofino and stradale

Hard to see this ending well. Mind I’m quite happy with Maserati having a low volume halo car as long as the new GranTurismo stays true to Maserati coupe roots: ie priced at no more than two thirds that of a 2+2 Aston.

I don’t believe they will make this Bob. They have been talking about the Alfieri for years. If a 4C that they couldn’t lease for peanuts was £50k this will be surely be at least sold at aston/ Porsche 911 Gts levels. It would certainly be tempting second hand if they build it and it’s priced well.
