I had our ridges (those that were left) replaced with bolt down ones last summer and what a great decision, I'd have expected significant damage and another insurance claim from the storm yesterday/last night for sure but thankfully not a tile lifted!

Sorry to hear about your dad Mark, always a worry seeing them slip into it....

Totally agree with you there Darren had 3 slates replaced on the roof here a couple of weeks ago €100 but he also cleaned our gutters out and swept the 3 chimneys which we needed done for insurance purposes.
I felt uneasy watching him to be honest.
When we had the gutters & soffits done he said he'd need to cut 1" off the edge tiles on the gable end to get the plastic caps on
I came out to see what the noise was to see him walking backwards down the roof with a petrol disc cutter cutting the tiles as he went
I couldn't even watch

Nothing good about it. Terrible night.

Managed to get back to sleep only to be awoken around 4am, more of the same.

“David oh David” and a strange buzzing noise.

Perplexed, I lay their motionless in the dark.N95 mask in place along with my overnight personal blackout eye wear protection (From my new range, Pm me for p&p. Dual purpose, This comfortable padded protective night eyewear also doubles up as a young girls first bra).

Cut a long story short, silly tart, I mean confident intelligent independent woman, must’ve got up during the night, brushed her teeth and left her leccy toothbrush on. Batteries now confiscated.

Mods, please put this in the “No Sleep For Wattie” section.

Morning Chris and all.
Just had a blowy walk to the Boulangerie and picked up breakfast first time in ages and just fancied a few bits and pieces.
Driving to Normandy today.
Stay safe all.

Good luck with shifting the large, Andy. Hope you feel better - or smaller - soon.

Morning, Forum. After a good day at work yesterday I've decided to do it again today. Because the tube is a vile thing filled with filth and sneezes I seldom use it, and yesterday I was lucky enough that my plans gave me several brisk walks, including across to a lunch on the South Bank and then back over the river to head home. The best views of London are up and down the river, and despite the wind blowing hard in one ear and out the other it was very pleasant. We should all make the most of it before Greta's biblical flood drowns London and Wattie's pestilential virus wipes out all human life.

Morning everyone!
It's pleasant having this sunshine around. So, the Merc went off to the bodyshop yesterday. It looks pretty rough for the low relative speed of impact but that'll be the pop-up bonnet and design of the front to just disintegrate on light impact in case I'd been ploughing down humans. I just really hope it'll be a repair and not a replace as the spec is not far off unique. The other party hasn't reported it to their insurer so, as they are on a motor trade policy, they probably have access to getting the work done cheaply and just need the exhaust rehanging and the bumper fixing and respraying. That also worries me that they will not admit fault and then it's her against me and goes 50:50 when it was 100% her doing.
Oh well, hapPea Tuesday!

I've just been called by the other party - the owners of the car, and they're putting 100% on me. Very unpleasant people. They're a crash repair shop who have the car of the lady who caused it in for repair. It's not even her own policy so she should just admit it.

Keep fighting it. I had something similar happen. Where a lady changed lanes into the car trailer I was towing, there wasn’t anything on it and I just think she didn’t see it. But she said I moved into her. It took two years but finally the insurance company admitted liability.

I'm going to see if the motorway CCTV may have caught it. Long shot but if the camera were looking the right way, there's a chance. Also, I'll ask the highways agency people who helped clear the scene for their statement of fact as it'll make it evident there would have been a lane-changing cut-up incident.
The company to avoid is HCL Service Centre in Chertsey... unless they decide to be honest.
