So who wants to go in with me and buy a number of Post Office box in a former Soviet country?

We register our cars there and drive them here and ignore tax liability and the rules that are spoiling our auto joy!

It'll be 2045 before petrol cars start to dwindle , I'll be 84 by then and more concerned about not s***ing myself when I stand up than what I'm driving

And in today's news......wind turbine blades can't be recycled and are buried in landfill.....

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...paign=news&utm_medium=bd&utm_source=applenews

Isn't it about time that intelligent governments created global platforms where top scientists and innovators can work together to look at the entire production and lifecycle chain of all these "green" technologies and work to improve it in a functional and achievable fashion? It can be done, for sure, but it will take longer is thousands of disconnected, often underfunded, companies and individuals continue to beaver away in their micro area without true direction.

How hard can it be?

Nuclear...it's coming to your neighbourhood soon!. The good news is they wouldnt be any bigger than a typical waste incinerator plant. I've seen the pictures from Rolls Royce and they look like big shiny armadillos.
Last thing I want in my street is a radioactive armadillo, m8!

Make the front and rear ends of the car magnetically positive, the middle negative and everyone will repel themselves to their destinations, zero energy!

I can't see a flaw in it, there is no downside....

The Mrs gets the use of a Ford FocuS all electric, which admittedly is older tech , however the issues she has had in no particular order:
1)getting caught in traffic and having to make the decision between getting to where she’s going or having the heater on, in minus 4
  1. charging it when staying at a terrace house- lead over pavement, elderly neighbours complaining, kids moving it
  2. at 240v house plug charging takes 14 hours
  3. different chargers have different heads and not all are interchangeable ( with the leads she carries), a bit like Android/iPhone charger debate
  4. lots of the chargers installed 6 years ago ( Olympic Park area) don’t work and are now obsolete
  5. not enough chargers full stop...
  6. someone else in the office borrowed over a bank holiday to travel from London to Cornwall.. 19 hours.... traffic was heavy so they stopped at every other station with a charging point because range was falling faster then a whores drawers... then had to wait to use 1 of 6 chargers at the services...

things she like ; it burns off all the boy racers at the lights..

I'm sure we can rely on Boris/Government to ensure the infrastructure is ready and in place in 15 years,I mean look at the successful building of new homes programme, all with energy saving solar/grey water, oh, hang on>..................

In france I was surprised at how many charge points I saw, pub car parks, even in the middle of nowhere , most public car parks , I wasn't looking for them but I noticed a lot more than here, one of the big supermarkets had about 20 in an EV zone

Because they want to make money!
100% agree. I understand that it would take around x7 Tesla Gigga factories to provide all of the energy reqmts for the whole of the USA and remove the need for any conventional power generation. So why don't they do it?..it's because many of the politicians are being 'supported' by the big oil companies. Too much vested interest to change.

Lime mortar absorbs CO2 as it carbonates. Cement manufacturing is the third biggest man made contributor to C02 levels, after burning fossil fuels and deforestation.

Everyone needs to do their little bit to make a difference. I’ve reduced my cups of tea to one a day, to offset the number of times my old man boils the kettle as he gets older. As the population ages, this will be grabbing headlines sooner or later.
Yeah..my leccy bill has gone up big style since I 'retired' early.....too many cups of tea me thinks! I need to stick with the Whiskey or the beer. .could be cheaper in the long run and 'greener'.

100% agree. It's not that difficult if they can put some of the right brains in a room that to look at every aspect of the 'energy chain' and work out the best solution with the least negative impact on the planet. It's 'simples'....

I read an article last week which actually said that DPF's on some diesel cars are so good now that they actually clean out more 'nasties' out of the air than they spew out. So if they can come up with a system which also does what 'Adblue' does for nitrous oxides but for CO2, then we would be sorted. Can't be that hard can it?

This looks like something that a very own Dan could have knocked up in his Garage down in the New Forest.
Will be interesting to see his Lotus Elise in the future.
