Great effort, are you going to get it wrapped or stick with the white?

Cheers - I am trying to compile all of the race history of my car and then see what livery it was dressed in & then I can pick which one I like the best to get made up.
As with all things with this car though, it's a bit of a slow process as the cars were swapped around a lot and most of the race team at Modena have moved on but there is a top guy there trying to help me so we'll get there eventually. I have details of the 2015 season's 4 races that it took part in, just the previous years to go now

Stuart, that's fantastic! Well done, to you and all involved.

Dan! and I were poking round a few Ferrari race cars for sale up at Lancaster recently. It's interesting, but potentially financially ruinous, to know that conversion to road legality is achievable, with the right will and available talent and tenacity.

How does it sound?

Cheers Adam - it can be done and if it's over 10 years old, it really is so much easier - go for it.

It sounds glorious and not massively loud currently. When the car arrived, it of course had no cats and also so rear silencers & at the British GT media day, they were immediately told it was too loud for any circuit in the UK - 115 dB from memory. It now has cats of course and also slightly muffled rear pipes but I do have the original Trofeo rear pipes which will be easily interchangeable. It would be daft not to at least try them ...

I don't really know what to say but HUGE respect for undertaking such an arduous yet worthwhile project. It and must surely be the only Trofeo on the road globally? I know a few people have done the F430, 360 challenge and there is that FXX road legal but yet to see a Trofeo which is awesome as they are clearly the prettiest GT race cars. I really hope you see (and hear) the thing on the road sometime! Congratulations!

Thanks & yes, I believe that it is the only one anywhere on the road. I was told by someone at Maserati, just after I had bought it, you know that will never get on the road.
Never say never!

Best post on SM for many a year and such an enjoyable read.

Would love to know the total bill!

You should drop a line to EVO as I am sure this would make a great 3-4 page article.

Thanks & that's a good shout about Evo, I'll get in touch

As for the total bill, up to now it's still less than I paid for my Stradale in 2016 so it's not horrendous

I saw your car at a car show a couple of years ago. Ebor's other car had just won the spa round of the British gt (having started at the back of the grid) but hadn't made it back in time for the show. The driver was matty graham and was only 21. I knew ebor weren't racing their cars any more and had seen them up for sale and wondered where they'd ended up. But for a lack of money and talent i might have picked one up myself.;)

Seriously though this looks like an epic project!

That's great, thanks for posting the photos - back in 2017 I believe

Brilliant job Stuart - very well played Sir!

Interestingly I had the very same thoughts and conversations with Angus at Ebor, Myles at Emblem and Dicky Grace. At that time the conclusion was that the risk of it failing to be road-registered was too high, so I chickened out and bought my Strad instead. I’m chuffed to learn that you took that risk and it has paid off.

You‘ll have to bring it to the Club AGM and concourse - it’s a shoe-in for the prize voted by the public, surely.

BTW, have Ebor still got the other one, as they offered me a choice of two?

Cheers Ewan and yes, I was deciding between the two also. The other car has now been sold to another UK race team who plan to campaign it this year. I opted for the one I did because at the time, the other car had a broken gear box and with my one not having been raced in the UK, it was still relatively fresh from having been serviced, fixed up & inspected by the Maserati mechanics prior to sale. That's not to say that Ebor didn't do a great job in maintaining their cars but the one I went for was a little bit fresher and straighter too

If Evo aren’t interested Auto Italia will be all over that!

What an epic build/purchase Stuart!
Top work!

The fronts are easy enough, the rears are tricky - they are 345 35 18 and I found an old'ish set of Michelins for now but most cars with wheels this wide tend to have at least a 20 or 21" diameter but Micky Thomson now make a UK road legal tyre in the correct size so I should be ok

:clapps: Well done Stuart!

Brilliant read and will be looking forward to regular updates and pictures here.
That sort of motor would be a thing of dreams for a lot of us (me) so its good to see someone doing it.

Hopefully, as I'm not that far from you, when you get it home I'll get a good look some day. ;)
