Why is the whole BT Home hub & WiFi Voodoo?
Works for months then throws a wobbly.

I've got the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz split, with different names, after the last wobble with Apple devices.
Now, all of a sudden, if any dual band devices connect on the 2.4GHz, they have no Internet access.
But if they connect on the 5.0GHz, they do.
This applies to android/apple/chromebook/Windows 10.
But then I have an old Windows 10 with just 2.4GHz and it connects fine with Internet access....
Then all the smartplugs/WiFi cameras that connect on 2.4GHz only I can't see them in any of the apps, but they are illuminating on the devices as connected to the network okay?
Non of it makes sense.
I've rebooted and factory reset the Home hub 6, no difference.

BT Home Hubs are well known for being shiiit!

Get a Draytek, or a FritzBox, in fact I have a Fritz for sale...

I paid £450 for mine but it's the canine's testicles, has 4G backup, with antennae, proper firewall, VPN and even has a built in Teas-maid....

I guess really I need to do away with the WiFi side of the home hub, and plug in an WiFi mesh thingie!

Mesh is really only worth it if you have coverage issues.

C

i always have problems on the wifi side of things.
The Ethernet hard wire connections have always been fine.
I've just been offered a Smart Hub 2 for the price of postage, so will give that a try, can add the wifi mesh discs if necessary.
