Why £57?£57 Shirley?
And don't call me Shirley.

....But step 2 is definitely to get someone to look on the computer at the voltages coming off the finger-trap sensor strip: anything below 3 is probably a fault that is telling the car that there is something trapped. New part is £75 plus many hours to fit.
duct tape?I keep duck tape in the boot for eventualities like this!

40 Euro postage!OR get a used rubber seal with the sensor still in it, which might be more for the combined parts, but less time to fit.

If it doesn't fix my same issue I'm coming round to yours with a few top boys!

And it was used by / named for the 'gaffer', not in a generic sense but specifically the chief electrician: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaffer_(filmmaking)
Not to be confused with the 'best boy'.
It does have the sensor wire but not buried in the gasket according to the pic. Suppose it should be easier to thread it in out of the car...Well good luck with all that!
(Make sure the one you are buying has the trailing wires for the sensor strip hanging out.)
