I had the previous model, freaking awful, like barge. Got rid of it straight away. I was too Partridge influenced at the time....

It's in very good condition and worth the effort. Those on here that know me also know that I wouldn't say that unless it was the case. Interior is like new, indistinguishable from the day it rolled off the line.

You mean people actually buy cars from you? ;)

Save £3.5k on your budget, spend some of it on petrol and know that it won’t depreciate as much as a £7k car.

If I was looking for something to smoke around in, it would be on my list.
This......looks immaculate for the money.

Been speaking about this concept with a couple of people this week. There’s some cheap motoring to be had in some very nice cars nowadays.

Lovely motor and the MPG isn't bad for a car of that size from its era

My wife's newer V6 turbo diesel CLS manages the same MPG and it costs twice as much used - with less gadgets! But it is much prettier than the GS

The VRT might not be that bad, if you know a friendly Revenue person.
But the annual road tax will make your eyes water.
€2350 pa if CO2 is over 225 mg(?)

Thats on new cars tho, older ones follow the old system, for example the QPV is top rate €1809 a year. Think that's for 3 ltr and over.

Fair enough. So you're going to pay, what 30% of market value upon registration. Roughly £1,000.
Then, you'll immediately also have to pay almost £2,000 for road tax. Within a short space of time,
you'll be paying annually in tax (£2,000) and more than the car is worth.
Who wants to pay almost £2,000 p.a. to a government with the collective IQ of a Telly Tubby.

Completely agree, the Irish system is shocking.
