Sorry I must be in the minority here.
I don't like either and the marque in general to me comes across as vulgar.
No offence just my opinion
I am now firmly team ferrari after my closest aston dealer threw their toys out of the pram when I bought a better spec car for less at an independent - and didn’t want to know when I enquired about SOR. I then sold via a specialist for more than I would have through them... and will look to buy a DBS in the future from anywhere other than them... every ferrari main dealer I have dealt with I have been very impressed.

You’re not allowed to give an opinion if you don’t tell us why!!

Well the 550 shows it's age for a start! A well looked after 612 still looks very pleasing and relatively more 'modern' than the 550. Performance wise probably not between them but I understand the 612 can be used more readily.

Been discussing these options with my mate who currently has a DB7 Vantage, he seems to prefer the less obvious 456 over both these options which I found an interesting perspective

Enzo's 550 is lovely

612 scag for me, beautiful looks lovely interior... Modern(ish) horsepower however a dated single clutch F1 gearbox with only 15% manual population out there

They definitely stand out from the crowd at the show's there are usually between 0-2 even at big meets like auto Italia

Shows they are a marmite car but definitely the F car for me...

I do also like the FF very much which is a similar quirky car. Powerful V12 with a snappy gearbox... but I wonder how reliable the 4wd system will be on them when they are a little more long in the tooth (hopefully when I can afford one!)

A UK RHD 612 in manual (v rare, as from memory, only about 20 were imported) would be a pretty safe bet. Given that 599’s in manual appear not to exist in reality, the 612 is the last V12 Ferrari to have the famous stick and gate.

Both will make Maser bills seem like loose change.

Ask Phil abd Enzo about service costs, esp to keep them sellable (ie by MD or Emblem etc)
Still not seen hard evidence if this. Are we talking £3k, £5k, £10k pa?
If really substantial costs, then is the whole Ferrari investment thing just ****/negated by running cost?

It's all personal opinion, but whatever people think about Ferrari as a marque, the 550 and 612 are some of the least showy cars in over a decade. The 612 is no more 'vulgar' than any Maserati I can think of.

Can’t get my head around this investment thing unless it’s for special limited edition runs. Earn money, invest in bricks and mortar or stocks etc. Enjoy cars. Why anyone would buy a 550 and stick it in a garage god alone knows. (Will get my coat).
