Thanks all. Just got back home after leaving @ 5am so a fairly longs days driving. Plenty of stops as felt tired a few times both ways.
Yup, tested the Fuse 22 thing already. Gees big difference between valves open and closed! I've ordered a remote kit thingy as recommended
I have to say surprised in a good way. Only ever driven a DB9 before and that was one track. The while package I have to say I think they nailed. The whole car feels so stiff and planted.
There are a couple of issues with this example I need to iron out that the dealer will pay for. The passenger door strut is weak and needs changing. He gave me the replacement new part but it only arrived yesterday so no time to fit if I collected this week. He will pay for Nicholas Mee to fit so all OK.
The steering has a tiny tiny lite wobble that I can't describe too well. Maybe a mount/damper/bush kind of thing. Just gives a little wobble seems like up the column but you feel it wheel end. I'm sure it is a known or common issue Nicholas Mee will know about and sort. Doesn't seem a big thing as is.really slight.
Drivers wing mirror mount needs a paint as has some slight surface only corrosion.
Front brakes/pads are a little squeeky at low speed light touch only. Maybe pads glazed a bit and need sandpapering a smidge to deglaze a little. Discs and pads are good around.
Car was MOT'd this morning. No issues except for wear on front tyres. Dealer has agreed to pay for new ones. He had just replaced the rear tyres when the car came into him. Annoyingly and silly IMHO they have put on Nankangs! Why on an AM I'll never know. Might repalce all 4 and just sell the Nankangs. They drive fine to be honest but I never comrpomise on tyres and would be a good opportunity to have 4 matches P4S's.
Needs a service and will get this done a Nicholas Mee asap. They can also kind of do a PPI at the same time to make sure all is good with then car I can't see. There is a 6th warranty on the car and dealer has agreed to resolve any day one issues.
In comparison to the 4200 and other cars it is so different. The interior or car doesn't rattle anywhere. It is firm bit not hard. The 4200 and GS don't ride anywhere near as well in comparison. The 4200/GS are harder but not better. The Vantage is firm with not much compliance but not uncomfortable, harsh or hard. Difficultly to describe but they have nailed it IMHO. Feels very planted and that gives you confidence. Really nice feel to steering, suspension and chassis. With decent tear tyres it would be very competent I'm sure.
I think with the updated silver rear light clutters on an Onyx Black car.it.might be better than my first choice of a mid dark grey. I agree with most here that the wrap stuff is a bit chincy IMHO and likely to come off. Although I'll leave it there for the moment.
Not driven much yet of course and mainly motorway but initial impressions of noise and power is I don't think it needs more of either. With remote on loud setting or Fuse 22 removed it would said plenty fruity enough. Power wise also I really don't seem I'm going to need more. Which is great as wasn't relishing the 5k upgrade. I'll suck it and see for a bit.
The engines are very different. Aston is a bit old school almost American muscle car feel/sound. The 4200 is an Italian Ferrari smooth revvy free sound. So very different.
Will be interesting to drive both back to back to compare. Very pleased so far.
