Greetings after a long absence - and goodbye. For personal reasons I sold my GS LE to Richard Grace. A nice last drive up through the Borders on Thursday (fingers crossed for no camera-generated letters), explored Chester in the afternoon, today walked the Snowdon Horseshoe in glorious weather and got back to Somerset a couple of hours ago.
The bit you'll be interested in: 2007 GS LE black / black leather with red piping. Only modification is an Alpine headunit, new slave amp and high quality speakers discreetly hidden behind the existing grilles - I think I posted the audio spec a year or two ago. About 42k miles, a previous forum owner from new (Parkway told me that DVLA has it twice under his name so it looks like, including me, three owners). He traded it for a black Ferrari ?V12 and the Ferrari dealers must have put it straight out to auction. I got it from Parkway. Full main dealer history until I bought it in October 2015 then Emblem since. Original wheels refurbished, new set of tyres and tracking done ~2000 miles ago, low clutch wear on last service and I have done only ~300 miles in it since. If anyone is interested then doubtless it will be up on Richard's website soon once he has sorted some very minor things to get it to his standard.
Right; I have enjoyed being part of the forum and had much useful advice from it. I hope it goes from strength to strength and you continue to enjoy your cars. I will get a twinge of regret every time I see a 4200 or GS, will lurk occasionally and shall definitely, for the foreseeable future only be pottering about "Slowly" in a diesel Golf and my 60HP UP. Adios!
