External temperature display

Has anyone had an issue with the external temperature display?
Increasingly I have noticed the display refuses to change from what it shows when the car is first started, until I get onto a fast road, when it then shows correctly. So for example on Saturday it continually showed 16 deg for a thirty minute journey at typical town speed, and then within a couple of minutes on a motorway it quickly went to 26.

Thanks for the reply, and you maybe right. In the picture is it being shown mounted to the bumper bar?

Our 2005 4200 spyder emerged from Nightingale storage for a run out today and displayed the ‘ice’ warning on the dash permanently, even though it’s 20’s outside. Anyone any idea of cause? It has been chilly here at odd times. But car has been stored on a trickle charger. Poor car has to compete now with a 75 Citröen DS.

Fun and games with the hood but that’s lack of use I expect.

Outside temp sensor in the wing mirror is probably playing up. Part 6 in the link. Relatively easy to change but I broke my mirror glass doing it.
