R32 Golf Anyone?

My cousin is selling this Golf R32 - not our usual fare I know, but it is pretty mint, one owner with a thick history file, so I thought it might be interesting for someone on here. It makes a pretty good noise too!

I looked at one a couple of years back and really enjoyed the test drive. Was a trade in at a Mazda dealer they were trading it out. Would have bought it but it was popping out of 6th (manual) so decided to swerve it.

Still been looking at them and GTi's, ED30 and Pirelli's but nothing has cropped up that tickled my fancy. Also many are a bit toppy on price or modded. Would mean I would definitely need to sell the Alfa then.

I think the R53 Mini Cooper S that I will be looking for soon still makes more sense.

If anyone is in the market for something like this they are a cracking drive. Shame it is a later car with higher tax but still a great drive.

They were the young ones choice at work. At least 1/2 had timing chain stretch issues. I think it's a common thing with them.

Fair enough. I don’t know but I am sure that if there was a problem with it, it would have been fixed as the owner was extremely fadtiduous. But if you are worried, don’t buy it ;)

Sorry wasn't meant to put people off. They are pretty impressive. Just make sure the chain has been checked on any potential purchase.

I have that engine in a mark II TT Roadster and it’s a peach. Not the fastest car out there but it’s a wonderful old fashioned driving experience and noise.

I had the same engine in my Audi A3 3.2 Quattro, great car , chopped her in for an SLK , I still regret that but , hey , I might not have arrived at my Spyder if I hadn’t .

Zep, how much is your cousin asking?
I'm looking for a daily driver with some fizz,
while I get my car projects completed
and hopefully sold, this summer.

Just under £8k would secure it. That’s about £500 or so less than some other similarly mint ones are going for.
