A Wankel with no lube - puts a whole new spin on the smoking in bed.

Old Chinese Proverb say;
Man who go to bed with hard problem - wake up with solution in hand
A lot of people run two stroke oil in the fuel.
Maybe that's what Parliament need another Guy Fawkes ;)

If Guy Fawkes was here today he would get a knighthood for public service rather than his actual demise

Fawkes was a fundamentalist convert who went off to fight in religious wars on the side of an enemy of this country. He then came back and tried to carry out a terrorist bombing. He’s was the 16th century equivalent of a member of Islamic State. There’s a reason we burn him every year!

I've just had the first bit of 'solid' Brexit news hit my inbox regarding one effect of a No Deal Brexit.

Here's the main bit of it which will be of interest to everyone.

If there is a no-deal Brexit, our involvement with the EU ETS will cease immediately. Hopefully anyone affected is already planning for this but if you need support, please don't be shy about getting in touch. EU ETS Allowances issued by the UK in 2018 have not been identified with a country code so they will still be valid for EU ETS compliance; however companies should consider their options when planning to meet 2018 obligations - in other words, have a good long think about how many allowances you want in your registry and what you might do with them after 29th March!

If we leave the EU without a deal, a new UK Carbon Emissions Tax will be introduced. Subject to State Aid approval, the exemption from indirect costs of the EU ETS currently enjoyed by energy intensive industries will be replicated for the new Emissions Tax.

One area where Brexit complications could arise is in Ireland.

We state this clearly: It is highly unlikely that any disruption will occur. However, if we leave the EU without a deal, the Single Electricity Market may not be able to continue. It is not an outcome that anyone wants so UK government, Ofgem and the Northern Ireland Utility Regulator are working together to maintain the SEM.

It's highly unlikely that most will understand any of that, if you do, well done.

However, for the layman, if the single Electricity Market does not continue, your electricity bills will take a sharp hike upwards! I would suggest if you are out of contract, fix it now!
Best case scenario is your bills stay the same and go up as usual. The other case, which is obviously worse they go up significantly.
By significantly it has been suggested 20% is in the right ball park.

This will add between £150-200 to the average domestic electricity bill.

The bit in italics is not conjecture, it is fact. The bit after, I've just put a bit of meat on the bones for you.
Hence why most businesses are procuring their energy prices now rather than waiting until after Brexit. As their hike will be felt more greatly.
The knock on effect is clear.

Higher energy costs, EVERYTHING goes up in price.

Who said a no deal Brexit was a good idea????

People panic over nothing
My industry is on its knees as a result of people getting scared and not buying and would rather build extensions etc

Hence why i got out and also no more hiring in that industry, well maybe trainees on 12k a year

In reality its a great time to buy!
Interest rate is low and you can buy a house at a decent price hence borrowing less than you would of 2 years ago!!

The media really have a lot to answer to

Really? I have, had, been looking at various extension options. I found it would be cheaper to move, which was not the case a few years ago.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/feb/12/mark-carney-brexit-bank-of-england-uk

Not so bad apparantly.

But he’s a central w*nker so what would you expect him to know......since he changes opinions much like the weather

Trade will still carry on. That is not in any doubt. However, little has been said about how much more it will cost to the man (or woman) on the street as they don't know yet.

My post was regarding my industry, and what we now DO know.

We put them on a list now , when they steal a truck and kill innocent people the security service says, we knew he was going to do that .

As does a section of the British Establishment. If they hadn't spent 30 years blaming the EU for every failure of domestic policy and the last 10-20 years dumping blame on immigration rather than a lack of spending on housing and other infrastructure we wouldn't have had the vote in the first place and would still be enjoying our prosperous life.

Politically I still think it a crazy act of self destruction, from a business point of view I'm seeing improved rates and opportunities. For my industry it is likely that we will have the equivalent of another dotcom boom. Should help pay for my Alfieri.

Many people voted out because from 2004 on employers took on eastern European workers who'd do their job for minimum wage when it should've been £10+ an hour ,employers jumped at this not caring that they could only do it because 15 of them were sleeping in a 2 bed house and were only interested in sending money home.

Millions of people have seen their standard of living fall which is why leave won.

I dont blame migrants for coming here, I remember reading in 2004 the minimum wage here was a dentist's salary in Poland, who wouldn't come here for that.

David Cameron like Theresa May severely underestimated how ****** off the public are, him with his referendum and her with the vote of confidence election.

The national living wage is only £8.21 from April 2019, could anyone on here imagine living on that.
