Fabulous results being posted here - well done everyone!

I also got on the scales today and was 85kg, which is 13st 5lb. This means since 1 Jan I’ve lost 1stone (or approx 6.5kg). It also means I’m roughly halfway to where I would like to get to by the end of March...

Whoop, whoop....

Guys, this makes great reading! Newton, knocking down another number at the front is impressive; I'm certain it'll be visible and am not surprised that helps with motivation. Jon, Adam, Crud, Catman some good results for you guys too.

Sunday morning stats...
2nd January:
Age: 36
Height: 6'4"
Belly flopped: 51"
Waist: 44"
Weight: 19st 8lbs

3rd February
Age: 36
Height: 6'4"
Belly flopped: 46.5"
Waist: just under 43"
Weight: 18st 13lbs

10th February:
Age: 36 - no change
Height: 6'4" - no change
Belly flopped: 46" - 0.5" this week, 5" so far. That sounds rather satisfying.
Waist: just under 43" unchanged from last week, but I can tell I'm going to be needing a new belt soon.
Weight: 18st 11lbs - 2lbs this week; 11lbs so far.

I may take a day off on the exercise today, but if I don't move at all, I'll still be on an average of >4000 kcal used per day this week. Not only is the weight gradually shifting, but I'm feeling way better by being much fitter and that's having started the year with reasonable base level fitness. Now I've got the amount of activity up to over and hour a day, I'm starting to up the intensity and add some bursts. Also, I cycled to work yesterday for the first time in a few weeks and could really appreciate how much easier the uphills were.

Until Le Mans that is ;)

I have to add to my stats with the comment I’m moving about with more ease and notably sleeping better as rolling over in bed is much easier!

Better sleep is a massively good thing!

Apparently snoring can be related to weight. Will @Zep be able to downgrade this year's recording from starting up a chainsaw?

Well I imagine it will be quieter as I will be recording it from about 10 miles away. Still audible obviously:p

At least this way you don't get i n the way of motorists.
Do you still wear the Lycra ?

Lol true, I’ll be out early mornings in the summer when the roads are silent. Yup certainly do still wear my bib shorts, riding without padding is even less fun than peddling stationary :D

Don't forget, Newton, that you're getting more exercise and a better physical work-out in a normal day than most of us will get in a week. This is a fantastic thing.

Finally got round to weighing myself. Yesterday I was 80.2kg after a big meal, travelling to Mexico and a few beers. Today first thing this morning I'm 78.1kg before breakfast. I'll take the latter as my dry weight giving me a BMI of just over 25. I should be under 77kg. let's see what all-inclusive can do....

I have plateaued this week. 80kg maintained from last week. Very little exercise and lots of sitting in the car.

Next week will be much the same, and then the week after I'll be on my feet all week training the new intake.

Now moved into new offices which means I can actually walk to work... So let's see how often that happens.

Well I’ve been given a place in the Prudential Ride London 2019, so I have the incentive of actually doing exercise. As opposed to last year I now have a target time to beat.
Being the competitive chap I am, this means I’ll have to train harder than last year. Which should mean I lose more weight.
And I’ll only have one holiday in the month before it this year! (Le Mans).

Training in earnest will start tomorrow. (As always) :p:p:p:p

I’ve been following this thread, but not really thought of investing..I usually hover between 11st 10 and 12.5 stone, currently I’m 12st on the nose, I’ve started using the gym, not done that for 10 years, since it wasn’t free....so I’m presently doing 3-4 40 minute cardio sessions followed by weights, one muscle group, 6 sets over 2 exercises, I haven’t really lost weight but the wife commented I looked leaner,
I’m 51 in Feb, 5ft7 ish, 32” waist, 39” chest!
So I guess all I’m trying to do is get a bit fitter, weight training wise until the cycling season starts, then I’ll have to get a bike box and shift bike to Denmark.
