Happy New Year Guys .
It was a really nice New Year’s Day here in Yorkshire , typical because I have just sorned my Spyder , so instead of going for a nice drive I thought I might as well fit some of the goodies I have been collecting , ready to fit in the winter months .
I started off with a set of alloy pedals I got a little while ago from Ultimate Pedals .
Pretty easy to fit , just a little fiddly reaching into the footwell to bolt them on , got there in the end though and really happy with the results , great quality and nicely finished , I went for the non slip pattern .02051004-DC58-4ACB-B05D-C2609B11E4E5.jpegF1B2775A-86B0-4F84-B186-B5B62770B7E7.jpeg

Hi Tim .
No , it’s the luxury pack with the dead pedal included , standard is just the 3 or 2 if CC .
Yes , spot on , 3 series BMW manual .

Hi Mike,
Those look good. I am considering similar for my 4200 GT Coupe. Would you say they give you more left foot room than the rubber mounts? Having size 13 feet means I have to be careful what shoes I wear so my clutch foot doesn’t catch on the brake, so this may help I guess. Plus the fact that they look much better!

Ive come from a daily drive T5 and agree that I am careful with footwear choice when driving the 4200. I dont think you need size 13 feet to be made aware of how the spacing is with these cars...
After some 2K miles, I am quickly learning that it just needs some adjustment but there still isnt alot of room between the clutch and footrest. Im concious of resting my foot against the clutch unless I withdraw my leg from the pedal box area rather more than is ergonomic sometimes...Given the travel they engineered into the brakes too from what Ive gleaned, it isnt like they needed proximity for toe/heel action...!
Still...nothing like a Caterham Super 7. So there's that !! :baffle:

Hi David .
They do make a little difference , yes , apart from looking great I wanted the throttle peddle to be slightly longer , so you can to some extent place them where you like , as long as you leave enough space at the back to get the nut on .

Just a heads up for anyone else thinking about buying pedals for their Maserati from Ultimate Pedals..
You are not actually buying BMW pedals but a set specific to your car....!
Thankfully we managed to catch this error before it slipped through the gaps...! BMW and 4200 pedals are not, they tell me, the same ...

Here are the templates, including measurements, you will need for a RHD Coupe GT

Size 12 feet here and fixing the aluminium pedal covers can give you some room for adjustment over the rubber covers. Left foot I found that struggle only if wearing trainers or "boat shoes" on the old rubber pedal covers. But the main difference I feel is where I have slightly adjusted the alignment of the brake and accelerator as I occasionally clipped one or the other when I had the clutch down, slight change of angle on the accelerator and widening the spacing has sorted it out... I'll take a photo at some point today

True Tim , the BMW pedals are only for costing purposes though , they need to know our car details as well , to get the right template , still very happy with mine , they are easier t see too if you need to glance down at them .

Nice pedals . you could have put some Allen key headed scews in them though instead of those wood screws :saifi5:

Useful to know thanks. A photo would be good as well.

Some nice countersunk capheads in brass would have been spot on..?!

Ive just been and measured up around the pedal box- the footrest cover they supply is humongous !! OEM looks like about 1/3 the size...!

I see what you mean , haha , they do look a bit like wood screws to be fair , they came in the kit with nylon nuts on the back , I might swap them out at some point now .

Must admit , the footrest plate is pretty big , I like it though , certainly stops the carpet getting scrubbed up .

I'm just wary that the kit is a bit bling and not so well thought through..I mean, why did they do that? I can see having to fettle the cover down to size. Carpet fitment isnt going to be the same for every car..God knows there are 'rucks" of carpet from the factory. If there's a bit much or it's worked a bit loose on the footrest, does the alu cover start impinging into clutch space I wonder....? - cos I dont find there's alot of space between the rest and the pedal..It better fit like a glove-thats all I can say. Or else Id be happier with a cover that was 30% smaller, and will end up reshaping it when it arrives....
Pedals are a (big) part of how you "experience" the car for me...like the gearshift. Steering wheel. Its a tactile reference point...
How does the footrest cover fix ? Looks like it just screws into the floor...! Jeez...I might email them and get it made 30% smaller..!!
