This is what I mean about portion size recommendations on boxes.

Nestle recommend 30g-45g for an adult male. Looks a little light to me. How is that going to fill you up?

This is 45g

It's not meant to fill you up. It's meant to let them sell overly sugared cereal and pretend it's healthy. I'm bloody sure they know *no-one* is ever going to eat the recommended portion.
The exception is the big biscuits: Shredded Wheat and Weetabox. you don't see (full size) ones with sugar and nuts or chocolate chips. Cos that would blow the calories per serving out of the water.....

Sorry Ive been awol. After a hard week and weekend of dieting, 4 boxercise sessions and a weekend of hard manual labour, I got on the scales and had gone up 0.3kg and it ****** me off!

Looks like its in the bag Jon.
0.3kg is too close to call. Given what you've been doing, you can't be doing badly.
Water retention for some reason this time and dehydrated last time? Last time you weighed yourself after emptying your bowells and before eating and this time the other way round? Between those two things you could easily have 1.5kg difference.

That’ll be more muscle then.
Don’t get down, keep up that routine and you’ll be chiselled!
Rome wasn’t built in a day and a lot of early weight loss is just water loss.

Ps I was up this week too after a good week, better eating and hitting the gym religiously.......rebuilding lost muscle.....the scales may say one thing but I can see another.

Will need to get some scales in Dublin if I am to weigh daily for now I will stick to weekly and see how we go - as much as I want to lose weight I am Northern and hate spending money on frivolous things like scales

I am happy to recommend the 7-Minute Workout app. Thanks to Phil for reminding me that it exists. It got me out of breath and left me just a bit aching after my first call this morning, and feeling good. Aiming for 10k steps and around 4 miles of brisk walking today. Unlikely I'll hit the rowing machine until tomorrow, though.

I can't be arsed with gyms. Too time-consuming. I prefer the flexibility of fitting in exercise where I can. Or maybe I'm just not disciplined enough!

After Whitby yesterday I am up to 12 stone 13 lbs
Also according to Michael Mosely TV Doctor this 10000 steps malarky is a fallacy.
He says it was originally a marketing slogan by a Japanese outfit to promote some gizmo they were selling and they plucked the number from thin air.............................

I think I deserve an award for superhuman willpower and dedication to the cause... have just been to Ole & Steen to buy a salad and didn’t buy a cinnamon swirl or any of their ******* delicious looking cakes!

I wonder if smugness will improve the taste of my salmon, quinoa and boiled eggs?

If it any kind of support Jon, my lunch today was a few crab sticks and a bowl of Mediterranean quinoa; a pale image of lunches past!

True, but it's still a reasonable goal, albeit more useful if the steps are taken with some amount of vigour. Apparently, 43 minutes of my total 100 minutes of walking today were 'active' ones. So far I've notched up 8,300 steps, 5.3km and 20 flights of stairs. Given your height, Chris, this would probably be just about half a dozen BFG-esque lollops for you. :)
