Certainly up there but low mileage, realistically this is where they should be but I suspect it might be a hard sell.

I saw that this morning. I'm sure it will be a great example but I'm not going to hold my breath!!.............Still, it would be great to see it sell for that price. It would be interesting to see what price they would put on it if it was a manual. Higher/Lower??

It does look to be a really nice car so good luck to them. Dealers who don’t usually sell them often chance their arm with a high asking price. I’d say it may be worth £25-27k if as good as it looks. If it sells for asking I’d be amazed.

I'd agree with Dicky....would like to see it go at asking but suspect £27.5k is about right. I'm never selling mine but if I did right now I'd not sell for less than £30k. Rightly or wrongly there will always be a premium for the very best cars.

If I compare my 4200 to any car I have now or have had it is in a different league of condition.

I have had my eye on the 4200 market for a long time, potentially to replace the GS.

My last 4200 (supplied by Richard) had just under 30k on the clocks and was c £23k..and is my benchmark for any replacement.

This one is close but £5k more than I qould pay and it would have to have LE package too at £25k

I had SupranoStu over at my house the other week to pick up some bits. It was the first time that he had actually seen my 42 in the flesh. He gave it a really good look over and then told me 'You have a 23k car here it's mint'!................I do think he was being a little generous with his estimate though!!
Saying that about a year ago when I was getting cabriolet withdrawals, I went to see a Audi S4 cabriolet with a view on px. The Audi was up for 20k-ish. After he inspected mine he offered me a straight swap. I didn't take the offer as it just made me realize what a nice car I have!!

I bought my first 4200 from Nuvola for 16K high mileage and discovered several major problems, only kept it for a week. Nareman took it back based on the problems, so I gave him another 5K and got a replacement which was near perfect, with a new clutch. I think to feel comfortable you need to be paying in the 20 K plus region, just my bench mark. But this one is pushing the limits at its advertised price.

I guess it just needs a few to advertise at the higher price and many will follow and it becomes the acceptable norm! Especially with the low numbers available for sale, compared to say Porsche or Ferrari for that matter.

Well, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting. These cars are worth every penny, we know it, so why not hold out for a decent price.

GS/4200 are still criminally undervalued in my book when you look at what else is about but because of there relative rarity compared to the usual fodder thats out there people tend to overlook them

Agreed. There are others in the same boat maybe......such as Aston V8 Vantage.

Even many TVR's are the same price and more. That is not even a comparison in my book as the Maser's are much better.
