Another milestone passed today

16ca16026988d855d1cc3f907d594021.jpg

Averaging just over 23 mpg over the miles and I’ve used 14 tyres

Service booked later this week. I’ve got a quote for it. Let’s see what it actually comes in at.

Not only did I book it in I got a courtesy car as well. I admit I did work out when I'd need the service and booked it around 5 or 6 weeks ago ;)

Nice to see these cars being used. Mine will hit 50k in a couple of months but I've decided to keep it to 75k and ten years (61 plate) and then have a think - nothing out there at the mo ticks as many boxes. Plus you never know in three years Maserati might manage to bring out a replacement.

There was an attempt to sell me a Levante S, along with a confirmation that the GTS will not be coming here. I’m of a mind to wait and see what, if anything, is revealed at Geneva next year. If nothing I’ll probably keep to the 75/80k mark and look then.

I fancy a more classic Maser as an occasional car, an F car to replace the Ghibli, and using the Alfa Spider as my daily. Given the figures I got on the FF it’ll take a while to get to that.

The problem with Ferraris' (and I love what they make with the engine up front) is that miles kill values and I want to use my cars. The Levante is not a bad car (only driven the diesel) and the air supension is impressive but it will appear slow and all over the place compared with what you have.

I test drove the Levante and its wasn't as bad as I thought. That's the rub though, it wasn't as bad, but was still compromised due to the size and weight of it. If I needed a 4x4 I'd definitely look seriously at one. The suspension is very good. Especially with the hunker down as you push on :D

Ferrari mileage values has always been an issue. Its why I'd use it for best rather than everyday. It would have to be one with the engine at the front though as it would be my touring car.

Yep need a boot for touring luggage if it's a Mr & Mrs rather than lads trip.

Just a shame they don't do Ghilbi/QPVI in 4WD for RHD markets. It would make them very compelling year round cars.

Why would you want 4wd? I use mine all year including in the bad snow we had last year, and it was more than capable.

I put winters on my GranTurismo in season and happily drive it in the snow so I do agree with you. Thing is where I live if it snows a 4WD on summer tyres will get home but a RWD car on summer tyres will not. I have a Disco as a family/winter car but if my fun car was 4WD I would not bother with the summer/winter tyre swap.

Thats a good point. I put my winters on as soon as the frosts really start, usually around mid to late Nov, and leave them until late March early April. Never been caught out. They were fantastic and the milage they can do are as good as the summers.

Yep winter tyres are amazing. In the bad snow in Feb I was in a loaner F Pace on P Zeros and the thing would not stop despite 4WD and some fancy electronics.

I have just ordered a 2019 Levante S, upgrading from the diesel version. I have nothing but praise for the car, 22k and no issues at all. The most comfy car I've ever had, and a superb drive hence the upgrade. I spoke to the Regional sales Director at Goodwood and he confirmed both the GTS and Trofeo are coming to the UK next year.

I chatted to him about the Alfieri ( still have my deposit down ) , it's defo coming as the presentation confirmed.

My 410S is heading to 50k too. I’m heading to Imola on a road trip from the UK this week, following a trip to Croatia a few months ago.

Agree on winter tyres. There’s a few people getting rid of 18in or 19in rims on eBay. I bought a set and put winters on. Better than an xdrive or Quattro on summer tyres.

Any timescales? I was talking to Maserati Italy the other day, the customer services. Was having a long chat. He didnt know timescales but was saying the Modena factory is not actually making anything now except the 4C, and they wont want it like that for too long...

Thay will make a factory tour rather short!...they only had 4 stations for the Alfa when I went in 2015 and that was when it was a new model.

I can’t believe they’d commit to timescales. Saving everything for the big reveal also they’ve done it before and not delivered. Need to get this right.

This is true, however, launch in xQ 201X would be a start! Or even a new model to be revealed at Geneva or wherever.. They were deliberately vague in the investor presentations I noticed.

They have three models to reveal. Coupe, Spyder, full electric.

Looking at an availability date for the electric of around 2022, based on the presentation, and working backwards my estimate is 2020 for the Coupe, with the Spyder the year after, and electric a year after that. Reveals probably at Geneva the year before.
