A colleague of mine was at a swanky opening party for a project he had completed, a well dressed lady of a certain age asked him: 'and what do you do?'
Him: 'I'm the architect'.
Her: 'Oh how charming, it must be lovely to have something to do'.
Other end of the scale..

When a shallow youth I chatted this bird up in Maxwell’s Plum in Bolton, remember this was the 80’s and the 70’s had yet to reach Bolton...

Me; what do you do?

Her; I pack biscuits....

Me; Isn’t that a bit boring?

Her; Oh no, sometimes I pack Custard Creams, sometimes I pack Ginger Nuts....

Lovely looking girl, from Wigan though, gimme six!!!!

@Wattie - @Corranga 's right. On the button. No offence intended.

PS - I hope your wife doesn't take offence at the photos you posted of the lady you 'pulled'.

PPS - still no offence intended! ;)

Hold on, we're going on about females and all that entails, but the Christmas Party is a Spa weekend! Hypocritical or just making up the brownie points for next year.

I think the latter therefore I'm in for Le Mans and for the Scandi trip

I was just thinking 'What goes into the making of a £1000 bag?'

Actually, mostly, time. Time from skilled craftsmen if some of the videos are to be believed. Of course, whether you chose to buy a hand made bag or are happy with the fact that a machine made one is almost certainly just as functional is a different matter.

Yes the more I think about this the less outlandish the price becomes.
Good craftsmen, quality materials, time, individuality price mark up for profitability all contribute.
It is just as a mere male I see a bag that ranges from £5.00 up over. So if you can afford it and are interested in that sort of thing why not?

Some of my non petrolhead friends would wonder why you would spend so much on a Maserati when a Dacia will still you get you from A to B!

Craftsmen...poor underpaid workers in a factory churning out thousands of the item...

Right, I've posted the strangely-left banana skin back to Dublin where Mrs Wanderer is working ATM (strangely after I left Baile Átha Cliath..) in an important looking envelope, hopefully it will be super-stinky when it gets there....

Proper Culchie me......

How many times over the years my missus has said I'll be fine to walk in these shoes. Then 50 yards up the road......
Mine tries a pair on, walks round the shop, says something usually like ‘these are the most comfortable shoes I’ve tried on’ buys them and then , , when we go out and walk any further than the car park, is complaining her feet are in bits and that she needs to sit down... and maybe purchase a new pair...
