Thanks for all of your help everyone. It seems that my air bag controller which is the ECU behind the radio, is shot. Two different SD-2 units couldn't get into it to reset it so a replacement unit is on its way. Once fitted, it's back for the MOT retest and then home at last.

It's bone dry down there so I don't think so. Maybe when I was swapping out all of the other ECUs, that was a short or a surge that did something or perhaps it is just those good old electrics!

Funny i replaced my controller and it fixed it too (well part of it at least) its a real pain to get into by the way you have ot get the whole dash board out. the main thing that's in the way is the heater controller unit which is right on top of it. The cuts on my hands are just starting to heal :)

Just an update. I popped into our new Maserati main dealer in Hamilton to ask about the airbag light (and drool over various new and nearly new cars) and they directed me to their service department at their Bentley, Overfinch and McLaren site down the road. While I waited and drooled over some incredible machines, they ran my car into the service bays, had a chuckle at the noise from the Larinis, and promptly reset the light FOC. Our other Scottish main dealer could learn a thing or two about that kind of service

One of the machines I was dribbling on. Very famous plate round our way since my initial is A and lucky number is 11, this plate is reg nirvana for me. The F12 it was stuck on is not bad too and the whole thing started a great day dream about Euro millions rollovers!

The one on the left Stuart with a person and a round ball on their lap is a pre-tensioner and or airbag system defective lamp. Similar to this.

The orange one on the right of the Binnacle is the passenger airbag deactivated lamp.

This one is on in my car now.

Then it's *probably* a faulty passenger airbag de-activation switch. It's about £40 I think

Thanks Catman. Hopefully getting it scanned tomorrow.
Notice you're in Harlow, my early years were spent near there in a village called Nazeing and went to a school in Harlow called Netteswell back in the early 70s.

Ilived in Waltham Abbey for a few months in the old school house which was flattened for the M25 I do believe. Can't believe it'll be 50 years ago before long.Time waits for no one.

School it was. Used to know a rather gorgeous butcher's daughter from WA that went there. You can make up your own salami jokes if you must :D

Not sure at present - always welcome to borrow the card you know. Time permitting I know. Fairly certain your Makro card won't get you in now.

Hope Mrs C continues to recover as well as she has been.
