I'd argue that the 4200 costs more to run, more common issues and older tech/parts means more liable to failure especially as they are now nearing 20 years old. The build quality of the GTS is better imo....
I'd like to believe that a Vanquish can't be any more jiggly than any other short wheelbase car. My wife loves her Fiat 500 and it must be more sumptuous than that... right?
Never driven a vanquish and I'd expect it to be comfier than the vantage (is that what you meant?) though I did speak to a delivery driver for AM and he said out of all their cars, the only one he's found truly comfy was the DB11. I think the suspension has more to do with the ride comfort in the vantage than the wheelbase though I catch your drift. It's just pretty tough on it's softest setting.
I'm with you, I'm not a fan of the look of the new Vantage either and I think the GT looks and sounds amazing. If Maserati had come out with a 2-seater Alfieriesque car with a voice like the GT it'd have been a contender for me.Trouble with the DB11, I don't think it looks very nice. The Vanquish looks great (better as a coupe than without its lid), especially the front. To Phil's point, is it nicer looking than a GTS? From some angles yes, but not all of them. In S version it sounds as good (but it should do at twice the price!). Its back seats are definitley far more sh!t.
