Well if we're all admitting our guilty secrets, I've been massive Straits fan for years.

Beyond that, some of Knopfler's solo stuff rocks too

As I understand it drummers are not considered to be musicians - rather percussionists.
Happy to be corrected on this as I played drums in a band once.
Sadly, I can't emphasise enough the word once ;)

Fantastic music - always liked their vids too:

This, IMO, is the best version ever of Sultans. Knopfler on guitar, Williams on drums, what's not to like?!

For those that have Dropbox, here's a little bit of Iron Maiden from last night. :)

saw Joe Bonamassa live and he is pretty good, I listen to him regularly.

I saw him a few years ago with black Country communion at Manchester academy , he can play the guitar , brilliant live

Another dire straits fan here and mark knopfler, if he tours again I'll be going on my own, Mrs W calls it suicide music ,

Listening at this moment the latest Pretty Reckless CD........

I found it ok, but much prefer their first 2 albums. Maybe it needs a few more listens.

Back to Genesis , 40 year anniversary of Wind and Wuthering

I always have time for Genesis, though Wind is probably in my least listened to of all their ablums. I keep going back to Lamb, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound..

Right now, I'm a bit all over the place music wise..

I'm listening to Paramore's new effort After Laughter, and the Cranberries new sort of acoustic greatest hits - Something Else.

I'm also enjoying Def Leppard's earlier albums, am revisiting Stevie Nicks fantastic 2011 album In Your Dreams, trying the new album by Liv Sin, and, since a colleague wore their Book Of Souls T-shirt today, I decided to stick Iron Maiden's Edward The Great compilation on for a spin :)

You want to give steven wilson / porcupine tree / backfield a listen , he's in both bands plus a few others ,a vastly underrated musician who's written some beautiful songs and some a bit wierd in the early days of Ptree

Deadwing would be a good one to start on , lazarus is the stand out track for me on that album

Hand cannot erase is very good, home invasion / regret 9 , 6:30 on makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck , just spent £350 on a pair of headphones , worth every penny

Nice. I took my two boys to see them in Aus this time last year. They do put on a great show.

This afternoon is accompanied by Eric Johnson. Never seen anyone change chords so quickly, often and precisely up and down the neck! I saw him about 10 years ago at The Royal Albert with Satriani and Vai for the G3. 'Twas awesome!
