Hi Guys
Just a quick update as we approach the first full week of ownership. Where do I start?
Regardless of whether the car is moving or not the car attracts attention , all of which positive. The Maserati causes a stir like no other car I have owned, heads turning, fingers pointing, even a small crowd congregated on day 1 as my partner and I took lunch at the Tiptree cafe near Chelmsford. When we returned to the car we were met by a barrage of questions, smiles and anticipation of what was to come.
Yes, our new found admirers were waiting for us to leave, and of course that meant firing up the engine something I think I will never tire of. And on that subject I have spent most of the week in Sport mode which has had two affects, 1. Making the hairs on the back of my neck constantly stand on end, and 2. Pushing fuel consumption down to 12 miles per gallon! Who said noise was cheap?
Driving the Quattroporte generates a sense of occasion, it's theatrical and a genuine attack on the senses. I have owned faster and better engineered cars but have never owned a car that has taken my heart so fast. It's far from perfect but the GTS ticks so many boxes I just wish I took the plunge sooner.
Safe driving guys
