In case anyone is interested, there are two QPs going through British Car Auctions next week:

BCA are decent auctions, always have some decent condition cars. The second one sounds the one to go for, any ideas on prices???

The 82k miles on will be about £16k plus fees and the other two will be circa £35k although they're both difficult to value and inaccurately listed. One is listed with no history which as we all know, has a detrimental effect on price and the other one is listed with all sorts of inconsistencies. One is listed as an 's' which I understood to be the 4.7 model. Are they sport GT etc....? Worth a look if you live near Blackbushe. Anyone?

A week or two back, there was 3 QPs and a GS on there. If you have the right access, they provide pretty detailed condition reports and occasionally price guides.

I had over 12 garages offer just £13,000 for my QP - with 44,000 miles, with full service history, £6,000 recently spent, and a Main Dealer annual service last week.................... needless to say I walked away ...........

The market for these is shocking ...................

HOW MUCH....Must say I saved you car in my Ebay just in case some pennies fell into my wallet and I could come and see it.....I know its a marmite interior but I think it really suits the exterior.......Have you had any joy selling Marc?

Actualy Andy the interior was a positive not a negative. There is just a reluctance and "fear" surrounding the marque based around huge repair costs it seems.

Having been serviced last week I did, at last, get Sytner to take a P/ex on a new, white, Merc CLS. I kept the 20" shadow Chrome alloys to sell on and got £17k.

Anyone want nearly new 20" shadow chrome alloys and Pirelli tyres - i will put in classified soon

and for what its worth - the reason i sold the car was cost. Every time i went near it cost me. No dramas. No breakdowns. Just maintenance costs that, despite the heroic efforts of Dick Lovetts at Swindon, i could not anticipate or live with.

I mean £500 for a wheel bearing
£2000 + for a suspension wishbone
£1800 for a handbrake unit and shoes with rear discs and pads
Plus The annual service ...........

etc etc

It is the 4.7 model, just run the plate through hpicheck for free basic info.

Up at £17,995 now at superior cars in Cardiff, eBay. Doubt they'll be servicing it, last one was 16000 miles ago so it's due one.

Mmm, could live with a QP sport - there's a vid somewhere of JC taking one for a spin on the track and it looks to handle really well. I think JC might even have been vaguely complementary about it...
