Allow me to introduce my best friend, Chris - we met about 10 years ago and in December he turned 72.
He has an incredible energy about him that belie his years and this year in August he will start the adventure of a lifetime. Together with his brother Francis, who is now 70, they will be driving a 55 year old Ford Consul 315 from Johannesburg to Dar-Es-Salam and back again to celebrate 55 years to the day that they climbed Kilimanjaro as teenagers....by climbing Kilimanjaro again.
I think I could rise to the challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro, but frankly I don't think I have what it takes to do the seven week journey in a 1962 Ford Consul.
