By the time it's shipped, imported, VAT paid, import duty, it's just as dear as a Euro car. There's a couple on mobile.de which would work out cheaper.

It was certainly worth doing before the Brexit vote had such an effect on the exchange rate.

I helped someone bring in a GS Spyder from the US (he fell in love with my red one but only offered to buy it after I had taken a deposit from someone else.)

Fortunately he had paid for the car before the change in exchange rate and the car was less than half what you would pay in Europe.

It is worth noting that an EU built car being imported by a private individual gets reduced Import Duty rate of only £50, instead of the usual 10% if it had been a trade import.

So it certainly was worth bringing GS in form the US prior to June last year!

MCVs really look all the value for an investment car at the moment. Have you see the prices of 550s? Nuts. I think a Maserati MC12 sold for about $3m at the end of last year, and they have the same seats!
