Lydden Hill and they are RS200's racing the the 6R4's still both fantastic cars and worth a fortune now, I remember both companies struggling to get rid of the remaining cars when Group B was banned. Those cars were quick even by todays standards.

Mind you I do remember seeing hot Escorts (and capri's) competing against the 200's and winning at times.

The engine from the 6R4 with a couple of turbos went into the XJ220 which supposed to be a V12 4 wheel drive but ended up a V6 2 wheel drive. Apparently there was so much transmission drag on a 6R4 it took two people to push it.

Many a happy day spent at Lydden Hill in my childhood, happy days!

Me too, through my teens and early 20s. Always used to go to the New Year's Day meeting. The egg and bacon rolls used to help with the hangover! 6R4s, RS200s, Audi Sport Quattros etc. Names I remember - Tiff Needell, Dimi Mavropoulous, Will Gollop, Martin Schanche, John Welch, Michael Quaife. A thrilling, fast-paced motorsport and even more enjoyable with the recently-banned Group B rally cars.

A lovely looking unmolested example, Robin. Did it come via the guy I put you in touch with?

Hi, No it didn't but a useful contact none the less, thank you. The car he is looking to sell is LHD and I really wanted a RHD one.

Well done Robin, looks a minter. Another one of your cars I need to have a go in....when you get that Bora back, I am inviting myself up, is that ok?

Definitely ok with me. Had some dialogue about the Bora last week and it is now apparently 85% done so fingers crossed for Summer 2015!

I prefer the hard top to the soft top also. Below is my old 4litre V8, a very rapid car

My mate is an expert on TR7s, possibly the world's most knowledgable on the subject. He owned about 18 TR7s at one point and still owns the only estate ever made!

I love the shape of the hard top too but for what I will use the car for the convertible was what I wanted to own.

I nearly bought one of the hatchback prototype a few years ago but decided agains it in the end - I think it was called the Tracer?

Well, TR7/8, like a Delorean, a floored car but always attracts a lot of debate and on that merit alone, it should get respect.

Oh, Robin, I really like Deloreans too (don't tell Benny) when you getting one of those, a sure fire money maker in the future.

Joking apart I bid on this at the NEC https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1981-delorean-dmc12 and yes I love them too and definitely on my cars to own at some point list.

Common sense prevailed though, will sell a couple of things in the Spring and then see what comes along.
