Friday is the final cut off date for this. I won't be able to accept any new additions and anyone I haven't received payment from will unfortunately be excluded from the group buy. I've allowed some extra time as some overseas payments have taken a little longer than expected to arrive. The person handling the order for me is away until the weekend, so the order will be placed and paid for in full early next week. I'll keep the updates coming as payments arrive, but no more reminders will now be sent to those yet to make payment.

I think it was mentioned back end of this year / early next for total order, as it's virtually November now I would say early next year, as Xmas & New year holidays have to come off..??

All of the details were made clear in the first post of this thread. Delivery is expected to be in January, the process takes 12-14 weeks on average, sometimes sooner. The order date is a little later than originally anticipated due to the huge demand and collection of payments from all over the world.

Mark I'm sure this has been covered and probably posted on here so apologies if I'm recovering old ground - is the plan to make 1 prototype from the design (possibly this has already happened), to fit to a car to test to make sure it actually does what it should do, and then once fully tested, production commences for the 100+ sets?

As I say apologies if this has already been confirmed - it's the PM in me you see - specification, design, UAT, production, roll out..... :blushed:


EDIT: What I meant to ask is will the first set be tested on a car before the others are made and delivered to us? Inorder to avoid 100+ sets being made and sent out that don't fit/work/are faulty.

Yes, this is all in hand with the manufacturer. They also have technical drawings and I've even sent physical specimens of each disc as reference points for them to test against.

This has been discussed before, but would it be an idea to set up a group buy for brake pads as well in the meantime? It would serve 2 goals: 1. something to keep us busy while waiting for the discs to arrive and 2. everyone having a full brake set available for install early next year (since it is not recommended to install new discs with used pads).

You would probably need to offer a selection to cater for personal taste, and pads do seem to be readily available at "reasonable" prices from a few different sources, but if you think it's worth trying, start a list and do some calling round for costs.

As above pads are very much personal taste. I will be looking for a set of either Ferodo DS2500 (or equivalent) of EBC Yellow stuff for mine.

Just ordered a s set of Goodyear tyres as well AS2 for it as well, expecting big improvements with decent brakes and decent tyres :)

I'm arranging a discount on EBC pads for the forum, will post when I've got details. I'm going for yellow stuff as well.

Andy - I just fitted my GS with the Goodyear AS2 all round. They are a fantastic tyre, really came into their own last weekend throwing the car through some great roads on Ryan's Run. I can definitely recommend them.
