Expensive lapse!!

I was on my way to get my car detailed, first time I have used it in a while, next thing I know the front n/s wheel has hit the kerb!! I am mistified as to how I managed it.
A repair of a polished alloy would be about £150, but given the nature of the repair it will almost certainly not match the rear wheel, so the OCD in me means I am crazy enough to go for a replacement plus fitting.
A very expensive lapse, made all the worse by my perfectionist nature pushing me towards a new wheel.
I air this sad story on here in the hope my behaviour is not alone !!

Don't replace! Just get both wheels on that side re-done. Far cheaper.

If it's any consolation, not long after gettng mine done, I caught a kerb in Rouen and might a right bloody mess of the wheel. Rouen has little to commend it at the best of times, and less still for me now. Still, nothing that a good re-furb (by The Wheel Specialist) couldn't sort out.

Ive had all 4 of mine refurbished (20" Urano) and I am sad to say 14 months later they are starting to corrode which is very irritating as I havent even been near a kerb since.

What wheels have you got Keith?

I've had both of my nearside 20" Urano diamond cut wheels redone, for one reason or another. The rear has been done twice which is getting close to a new wheel should I scrape it again. I'm not looking forward to that bill.

I'd get them repaired if possible but do both on that side.

Always gutting when you hear 'that sound' and very frustrating, I feel your pain.

With apologies to the OP - a quick question if I may re: wheels.

A friend recently pranged his Maser which was wearing Neptunes at the time.
He has since sold the car with its original wheels but has 3 grigio mercury Neptunes "left over". One front got munched.

He's no immediate plans to replace the Maser and so was wondering what best to do with the wheels. Any thoughts re: potential value for a "set" of three?

Thanks chaps.

I Kerbed one of mine a few weeks ago when I took a mate out for a run, clipped the pavement as I left my drive. Had it refurbished in London, it was done in a day and looks great. I was worried about matching the others however am happy with the result so that might be a cheaper option.

I have the 20" Urano wheels.
Thanks for the responses and to be honest common sense would dictate getting it repaired. The problem is I am my own worst enemy, and I know I would end up looking for differences, and then being driven mad .
Also as you mentioned there is the issue of corrosion.
At least I managed to get a discount from my dealership... Normal retail price £787 !!! Plus fitting.
By the way the back ones as their bigger would be even more.

Maybe better off selling them as singles for full size spares?
