Putting my GranSport up for sale

After two hugely enjoyable years, I'm putting my 2006 (56 plate) Grigio Touring/Nero full leather GranSport up for sale.

I'm only the second owner and the car has covered 36,500 miles (will increase slightly with the use). The previous owner serviced the car on mileage, not time so that was every 2-3 years. But it was serviced in Jan 2016 by the Supercar Rooms when I bought it and in April 2017 by Giallo, having only covered another 2,500 miles. It's done about another 2.5k since then and can be serviced again prior to sale. I believe the car was kept indoors by the previous owner because it looked like this underneath when I bought it:

It spent the winter of 2015/16 in the Supercar Rooms' workshop and last winter I put it into storage. The car has never missed a beat – the only time it didn't start was due to a flat battery, which I replaced. Last year's service included replacement of leaky cam covers, a well-known issue.

The car is currently with local specialists Giallo, but there are plenty of pictures on these road trip threads:

The car has Formula Dynamics braided steel brake hoses and I've been using Ferodo DS2500 pads, which are as good as OEM when cold and provide much better performance when warm. It also has a forum X pipe, but I can provide the original centre section. The Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres have done 2-3k miles. Optional extras are electric heated eats, Auditorium 200 hi-fi and full leather. It doesn't have xenons, but I've fitted Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, which are much more powerful than the standard items.

Other than the issues mentioned below, the paintwork is in decent condition for a 12 year old car and looks amazing after a wash and wax. There's a stone chip on the bonnet and some minor scratches on the ‘surfboards'. Inside, the back of the driver's seat has a couple of scratches. If I was keeping the car, I'd get these vinyl wrapped for a couple of hundred quid.

In its current condition, I'd sell the car for £24,500. That's nearly £10k less than other low mileage cars on the market. Why? A pre-sale inspection at Giallo highlighted a number of jobs that need doing, as well as a few optional extras. All of these can be rectified prior to sale, with an appropriate addition to the sale price. Alternatively, you can buy the car with none or some of the jobs done, and save money by DIYing some of the others (like sticky interior buttons) or shopping around (like the paintwork at the rear of the car).

However, the car will probably only be available at the low price for a few days. I'd like to get some of the small jobs (chrome air vents, airbag lights) done as well as the radiator fixed before getting the car back. So if you want an incredibly cheap, low mileage project get in touch fast!
Here's a list of what needs doing (and I have a quote from Giallo for all of the work):

Mechanical:
New front pads and discs, new radiator, hand brake needs adjusting.

Electrical:
Interior light and boot/fuel filler cap in glovebox not working, airbag deactivation switch needs replacing, driver's seat not moving forwards when tilted.

External cosmetic:
Bubble of corrosion under one of rear light clusters, nick in the rear bumper next to the exhaust. Rear of car to be resprayed after rectifying these.

Internal cosmetic:
Bolster on driver's seat needs repairing, chrome vent surrounds need replacing, ‘sticky' buttons.

The quote to fix all of that is £4,500 including VAT. A service would be around £300. I'd take £29,875 for the car with absolutely all of those jobs done if I need to stump up the cost in advance. But there are certain jobs, like the sticky buttons and chrome vents that many forum members have undertaken themselves for little cost. You could probably save a few hundred quid on the external cosmetic work by going directly to a bodyshop, too.

The clutch is 62% worn - that's an increase of 30% in the c5,500 miles since I bought the car. It probably has another 6-8,000 miles on it. You could replace the clutch now, but it's probably got about £1,000 of value left in it, based on a £2,500 replacement cost.

Happy to answer any questions on this thread or by phone if you PM me. And to all the forum regulars, please, for the love of god, keep discussion on this thread confined to this car. Yes, I know that is a hopelessly unrealistic request, but I'm trying to sell a car here!

Sounds cheap to me so should sell quickly. I'd hardly describe it as a project car - all it needs is few standard items that are part and parcel of such age/mileage car. There are at least a couple of people on here talking of buying a GS, so this one must be a strong contender - low mileage, low owners, low price. As a buyer, what more could someone ask for?

Well done for writing such an informative and honest advert. You derserve to sell it quickly.

Thanks for the comments Ewan. I've priced it to sell - I'd like to get a replacement in time for the good weather.

Hats off to you, I agree with Ewan, absolutely honest post with all the cards on the table, low owners, low mileage and fully sorted for £30k, hard to ignore, I’ve enjoyed reading your last minute blast / trips.
Hope you and the next owner get the deal you both want, as Ewan said, few new people interested and this should be on the radar.....

Very honest advert and if this was for sale in 3 months time I would be biting your arm off! (Darn house renovations)

Funnily enough I was close to buying this from the Supercar rooms when you snapped it up a few years back. Silver with black leather looks great in my eyes.
