Cleaning Gunk from GT Interior Console

So have read about the coating on the console around the CD player/Radio buttons deteriorating with a sticky paste over time.

Do any GT owners know how to clean or strip the gunk away?

Driving me crazy.

So just updating this from personal experience if anyone else has this problem.

Tried the Baby Wipes and then the Simple Green.

Left a fair bit of sticky white residue.

Applied the 99 percent Alcohol (Methylated spirits).

Bam! Residue comes off nice and easy.

Spray of Meguiars Natural Shine Protectant to finish it off.

Very good results.

I never got any of it to work on the 4200. Have you got some photos at all?
