Indoor covers? Are they worth it?

Mine is a GTS one so it says Granturismo S across the windscreen. I like the stealthy fact that it's not what's underneath!! :)

Come on. Even I have a cover and it doesn't stop me from driving the cars and I am a lazy git!!!!

Definitely recommend them. The amount of dust you get in a garage is obscene.

That does look sweet. This thread has me seriously considering one for the first time.

Agree on that.

I get all mine from Specialised Covers (so they are not the official Maserati ones). Better quality and you can specify colour, piping, badging, etc.

I'd also recommend Specialised Covers. Had an indoor one in the past. which was nice and soft, easy to fit and fitted perfectly (included round door mirrors etc).

Jon, As you have just painted your garage walls and floor why don't you see how much dust the car collects in a week then make a decision. Apart from the dust, the cover offers some protection against paint damage should the kiddies decide to rest their bikes against the car etc.

Thanks - good advice. My car is going in for a full paint correction, detail and ceramic protection in mid October, so will wait and see how that looks and copes with being in the garage before spending yet more cash...

I think they’re worth the money. Especially for winter lay up time, stops the dust and passing scratches etc.

Don't forget car cover wash day.
All that dust we are protecting the car from has to go sometime.
Label says hand wash which is one way to build up your strength.

OK I have a question which is both related and a little off topic....so I apologize up front.

I have a new 2016 GT Sport. I bought a cover at the dealer the day I picked it up.

SCRATCH Question #1 How do I find out? OUTDOOR COVER I FOUND OUT

I wil be storing this for 4, 5 months in a unheated garage off site from my home (with electricity).
I was planning to use the trickle charger.

Question #2 - Should I simply disconnect the battery?
Question #3 - What are the negative impacts of disconnecting the battery vs. trickle charge for 4 or 5 months?

I of course will use the cover. I have read on other posts, people recommend leaving it in "locked" mode vs. completed unlocked.
Question #4a - Since I will be away from my car (50 miles + I travel a LOT) - Should I care if I leave the car locked or unlocked?
Question #4b - Does the above answer change if I disconnect the battery?

Finally I have read that someone recommneded leaving the windows cracked a small amount.
Question #5 - If I don't "believe" the garage has a moisture issue/odor, should I just leave them close 100%?

Thanks for your input on the above - either way I will STILL use the cover through the Maine, New England Winter!

Can't wait to take the cover off mine over the weekend and hopefully take it for a blast...

Will need to turn it sideways first!

Windows left down slightly when the battery is off so that you do not damage the seals when opening the doors.

There is no damage to the car from leaving the battery off for a long time.

Your handbook has a section on long term storage.
