More problems :(

Morning all

Ive not long had my 3200 back after a failed turbo and a number of air leaks that was causing all sorts of problems. Since having the car back the first 200 miles have been good but Im now suffering from constant engine cut out. The EWL keeps flashing with a total loss of power and it just cuts out. It occasionally springs back into life but most if not all of the time its just dies. It won't happen if the car is fired up and stationary and only happens when im underway and at slow speed. Any bump in the road, corner or sudden stop seems to trigger it and when it died on a level crossing yesterday afternoon was when the red mist started to appear!

The code reader doesn't have any codes stored which is annoying so Im going to take her back to the garage in the week. I'm thinking this is most likely sensor related?

Thanks Mark

Just checked them and the battery terminals are all tight and secure....However......The fuse board above it is very loose on one side and the relays and blocks on the far left have column appear to be quite loose as well.

So it looks as if the loose fuse board could of been affecting one of the cut out relays. Ive just secured it and taken her for a quick blast and all was good and stable.

No EWL lights and not cutting out so hopefully thats sorted it.

Cheers M

So it looks as if my earlier efforts have only delivered a temporary return to life. Ive just been out for another drive and managed to get to the end of the street before she died again.

After another cut out experience she wouldn't fire up and I had to push her to the side of the road. A battery reset has allowed me to start her up and drive but she keeps cutting out on braking and bumps in the road.

Ive never had a more temperamental car and she just doesn't want to work which is getting really boring now :(

Any ideas gratefully received

If a bettery reset allowed it to start, and mucking about at the relays also temporarily sorted it, it does seem to point to a dodgy connection in there, just a metter of tracking it down, run the car and simulate bumps by wiggling stuff in there and see if you can trace it that way if and when it cuts out.

It didn't work unfortunately.

She fired up okay and I drove around the block a copy of times. The EWL came on on the second lap and all power died but she sprung back into life.

Im thinking this could be some kind of sensor issue but i'll have to let the garage figure that one out.

Where are you based? It needs taking to a specialist indie such as Autoshield, it may be something really simple to those in the know with tech problems.

Im in west London. Ive tried a local Italian specialist and they are good but more of a restoration outfit.
