You know how to let it all hang out & live.....you are the party animal

I think someone had been doing this and collected all this data. Issue is we would never know reliably or accurately what price they went for....especially when part ex's are involved as it is more about a cost to change rather sale price of vehicle being sold.
Lol, I had that which is why we could build some assumptions in!
As an aside I saw an Escort Cosworth the other day fog £65k !

Crazy all that stuff. I heard of a Sierra RS Cosworth go for 85k the other week. Even some pretty rubbish 80's stuff like XR3i's has started going for or being touted for silly money. Not a bad buy & bit of fun for a few k buy 5 figures plus....no thank you.

Makes Maser's look even more VFM.

There is a nice 2009 Blu Oceano 4.7 GT S with Bianca leather/blue stitching on PH with 41k miles @ 32.7k at the mo. An auto not MC shift but we are starting to see a lot more GT's & GT S's come on to the market pushing prices a little further south. They aren't far off bottoming & depreciation getting shallower but still have a little way to go yet IMHO.

I agree, there is a bit of give I think, problem is I think a GTS is still too much for my needs/ wants which is where the GS comes in, but then I think you have to box clever,
So, Stradale it is !!!

It's people who now have some disposable income reliving their youth, or buying the car the always wanted at the time. 90s Hot hatches making 5 figure sums, madness! I agree re the GTs sheer numbers are against them, and to the "man in the street" they all look the same, as the various BMWs etc do.

Agreed, although I've never boxed. Bought plenty of cars though.

Agree with that. I bought a 306 GTi-6 18 months ago as had one new & lived it. I didn't pay silly money though as haven't got silly money. It was 4 figures but only just. A lot of fun for little money. Would I pay 10k+ for one....errrr....no.

I had one new as a company car back in the day too. I quite liked it, but seats were too comfy/soft, got back ache if drove for too long, did 40,000 miles per year in those days.

Small world. Cracking cars but not one you would want to do too many miles in so could appreciate your issue there.....40k is a whole chunk of miles.

Well I have, but still no good at buying/selling cars!!
I just cant/ won't rip people off, no wonder I don't have money!!
I can't rip people off either which is why I also sit in the pre-millionaire camp. It is possible to be successful and not rip people off while accruing some decent levels of cash along the way. I think....I hope!

My neighbour has a 1993 escort cosworth , it's been in his garage for the last 7 years , earlier this year I helped him put it on a trailer to get it recommissioned

My advice was to get 12 months test on it and leave the bodywork to the new owner rather than some half arsed blown in panels bodge , not seen it since , it's done 100k as it was his daily driver but with a test on I bet it makes 35k , painted looking pretty maybe a bit more

I sold my Sierra Cosworth 4x4 a few years ago for not a lot.
A specialist bought it to brake up as it was worth more that way.
Crazy or what.

My personal thoughts are until they stop makong the GT it will continue to depreciate.

The Strad is an odd ball as they do not make that model anymore and I know the MC box is no longer produced but the MC Auto shift is seen as being just as close.

22k would put this one in my price range, but, have a feeling that any saving i'd make on the purchase would be spent in the workshop in pretty short time, shame, and especialyl after reading BEau's first comment, as someone said, that kills this one dead !

interior wise, i'm guessing people go for this colour over the white as it'll not be quite as easy to mark and get grubby

I'd view it the same as buying one in a private sale but with consumer rights on your side , if it does have a full main dealer history it hasn't been neglected , interior doesn't look like its done 117k , no clutch to worry about .

Though for similar money I'd take Ewan's QP every time , my 3 cars are worth around the 25k mark , if there was an easy way out of them for what they're worth he'd be getting an offer

Feel free to try my brothers thing to try selling any cars. He is getting bids via his dealer network better than WBAC price levels. Costs nothing to list the car & nothing to sell so worth a punt. Go to www.getitgone.co.uk & pop in your reg & details.

I'll have to speak to him to see if he wants to become an official SM forum sponsor.

I agree Ewan's is a lovely car & I have been tempted. It is just not enough of an upgrade or step up for me over my existing QP. For others for sure the situations will be different & I'm surprised nobody has bought it yet. The GTS with the 4.7, MC Shift & valved sports exhaust makes the extra difference for my situation.

I've been in discussion with Frank but need to decide how much it is worth to me over my existing QP & how much I would sell the QP for. I bought it very well I think so happy to sell it very well to a buyer. It is not worth double my QP to me but working out how much the QP will sell for & an upgrade/cost to change price to Frank's GTS is hard. It is easier to keep my QP as I am very happy with it. I just never seem to do easy which is frustrating sometimes!
